Alameda’s Newest Newlyweds A lameda residents Scott and Lisa Amstutz were married Sept. 7 in Tilden Park, Berkeley. The ceremony and reception were held at the Brazil Room. Lisa is a public relations manager with staffing firm Robert Half and a two-time Ironman triathlon fin- isher. Scott is an aviation maintenance supervisor and works at the Oakland International Airport. The groom grew up in Alameda, and the bride is from Danville. Set in the court of Denmark, this murder mystery fea- tures Shakespeare’s most famous soliloquy, “To be or not to be.” This one-hour touring produc- tion travels with a cast of pro- fessional actors in costume, with set, props and live music. Show Someone You Love Them: Listen The Great Thanksgiving Listen is a national assignment to engage people of all ages in the act of listen- ing and to capture the voices and stories of thousands of Americans through one-on-one interviews throughout the Thanksgiving hol- iday period. In support of this effort by StoryCorps, the AML will host a workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. and provide listening areas during the Great Thanksgiving Listen, Nov. 16 through 30. To participate in the event, download the free StoryCorps app. The Nov. 10, workshop will be facili- tated by Theo Wismar, an Encinal High School student and current user of the app. The goal of this event is to get users comfortable using the app and ready to partici- pate in the Great Listen. From Monday, Nov. 16, through Friday, Nov. 30, AML will make two Listening Corners available for those wishing to conduct inter- views. Completed interviews can be immediately uploaded to StoryCorps and the Alameda Free Library Facebook account as well (instructions will be provided). The library will provide a selec- tion of board games and partici- pants may also bring their own games to play. Friendly competition is encouraged and all ages and skill levels of players are invited to participate. For more information, call the AML reference desk at 747-7713.
