d. Chisel As with saws, chisels are
available in a variety ofshapes and sizes.
The ones that you are mostlikely to use are describedbelow.
Like all edge tools, chiselswork best when they are verysharp.
This ensures less effortneeded to cut, which enablesgreater accuracy.
With their sharper cuttingedges, chisels can be adangerous implement to workwith if not used properly.
Make sure that you carrychisels by the handle, andwhen passing a chisel to acolleague, safely hold theblade while offering thehandle.
e. Marking Gauge Marking gauge is a tool used
to mark lines parallel to theedge of a wooden piece.
It consists of a square woodenstem with a sliding woodenstem with a sliding woodenstock (head) on it.
On the stem is fitted with amarking pin, made of steel.
The stock is set at desireddistance from the markingpoint and fixed in position by ascrew.
It must be ensured thatmarking pin projects throughthe stem 3mm and the end issharp enough to make a veryfine line.
f. Bar Clamp A bar clamp as shown in the
following figure is made ofsteel bar of T-section,withmalleable iron fitting and asteel screw.
It is used for holding wideworks such as frames or tops.

g. Claw Hammer It has a striking flat face at one
end and the claw at the other,as shown in the figures.
The face is used to drive nailsinto wood and for otherstriking purposes and the clawextracting relatively large nailsout of the wood.
It is usually made up of castiron.
h. Mallet A mallet made up of wood or
rubber is like a hammer usedto drive the chisel withconsiderable force to beapplied, which may be thecase in making deep roughcuts.
Further, it is advisable to applya series of light taps with themallet rather than a heavysingle blow.

Usage :
To shaped the soft wood to desire shape.
To cut off the plywood or others soft wood.

Portable Sander
Usage :
To smooth the wood surface.To make a good finishing to the wood.
The wood will be easier to paint after sander it.

Edge Bending
Usage :
To shaped the side or the corner of the wood.

Usage :
To make a hole on the wood before we insert the bolts and nuts.
This machine only suitable for soft wood.

Usage :
To cut half of the wood.
Suitable for the thicker wood.

Usage :
To cut off the wood.

To make a circle hole at the hard wood to insert the bolts and nuts.
