• A piece of software that enables multiple virtual machines to be run on same hardware resources
• Two types of hypervisors
– Bare Metal Hypervisors (VMware ESXi)

• Cloud technology’s designed to provide simple, easy solutions
• Cloud location has specific security & performance implications
• The Backup Admin’s job can change dramatically
• At all times, keep with you a “cheat sheet” that lists the meanings of all the new acronyms
