• The masthead for ‘Total film’ magazine is usually at the top of the cover. They always have the title ‘total’ on the letter ‘F’ making it clear the magazine is about ‘films.’

• In this front cover, the colours used are grey and blue they are merged in as it suits the films genre which is: Action, adventure and sc-fi.

• The film title is at the middle of the front cover in orange font making it stand out compare to the rest of the poster which is in a greyish blue colour.

• ‘Inside Marvels mind-blowing mutant epic’ this makes audience understand that there is information about how the director selected the X-men characters from Marvel comics.

• There is also alliteration used when it reads ‘X-PLOSIVE! X-TRAORDINARY! X-CLUSIVE’ suggesting the magazine and the film both have very special unique information to them.

• The image of the main characters of the film is placed on the centre of the page, so that when they look at the front cover this is the first thing they see.

• The reason why this image is going to attract more people is because of the main characters who are: Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and January Jones.

• The image of the person covered in blue would interest audience to see who she might be and why she is like that.

• The two male actors in the middle look like they are on a mission and would attract both a female and male audience.

• The last image of the female would intrigue a male audience as she is not wearing much clothes and her facial expression doesn't give away anything about the film; and they might want to watch the film to be able to unravel this.

• In the bottom right corner there is a small logo which read ‘THE WORLDS BEST MOVIE REVIEWS’ this implies that this magazine outlines different peoples viewpoints on a film.

• As it has stars around it, this suggests it may be by a critic or the film has won several awards as well.

• The colours of the font are white and orange as they stand out in the magazine.

• For the subtitles they are very gripping for instance one of them are ‘BOYS NIGHT OUT’ this would attract a male audience but after it reads ‘The Hangover 2 hits Bangkok’ indicating that it is about ‘The Hangover’ film and is referring to the characters as going wild. Therefore it would have information about the film as well.

• At the bottom of the page there are other information on other films such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ which are titled ‘PIRATES 4’ and ‘The Inbetweeners’ which is titled ‘GANG OF FOUR’ the reason why total film do not clearly give away the names of the films is because they want to draw in readers with their headings and do not want to give much away.

• At the top right corner they are informing readers that they have included more information about different films inside there magazine.

• The word ‘X-tra’ they use is in orange and so is the films name ‘X-men’ they do this so that the title of the film stays in the readers head and so they read the magazine to find out what x-men is about.

• On the middle right hand corner under the magazines title is the date when the magazine was published and there online website for readers to then go onto their website and find more information.

• At the bottom right corner is the barcode allowing viewers to understand how much the poster is.
