Students may note that the JEE Advanced 2014 Cutoff is based on consideration offactors like number of available seats, previous years cutoff, number of applicants and

the difficulty level of the exam.

Candidates can check the JEE Advanced 2014 Cutoff to know their chances of beingshortlisted for admissions to the IITs.

Cutoff forJEE Advanced 2014will be different for all the courses as per the number ofapplicants for it and disciplines.

Out of over 13 lakh candidates, who took JEE Main 2014, the top 1,50,000 qualified studentswere shortlisted for the JEE Advanced 2014. Admissions to 16 IITs will be based only on

category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE-Advanced, provided such candidates are in the top

20 percentile of their respective boards. The JEE Main 2014 Cutoff was 115 for general

category.

JEE Advanced results 2014 were declared recently with approximately 21 per cent of the

candidates passing the exam. Around 1.26 lakh candidates registered for theJEE Advanced 2014

examination with a total of 27,151 candidates passing the examination.

From the 27,151 candidates qualifying the exam, 19,416 candidates are from the common meritlist, 6,000 candidates are on the OBC (NCL) merit list, 4,400 candidates are on the SC merit list

and 1,250 candidates are on the ST merit list. Those candidates who did not submit their

category certificates by May 31 have been counted in the Common Merit List.

Chitrang Murdia of Rajasthan topped the JEE Advanced 2014 exam by securing 334 marks from

the 360 maximum marks, an increase from the JEE Advanced 2013 topper who had secured 332marks. Among girls, Aditi from the IIT Roorkee zone has secured the seventh rank.

The JEE Advanced 2014 exam, held on May 25, consisted of two papers each with threesections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions were in the form of objective-type

multiple choice questions and each paper had to be completed within three hours duration.

A total of 9,784 seats are available across the various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and

ISM Dhanbad.

various undergraduate coursesbut in recent years, the govt. has added some new NITs resulting

How to get admission in NIT?

Since the admission system has been changed this year. Students wishing to get admission inIITs or NITs will have to clear JEE Main & JEE Advanced exams.

Because clearing JEE Main exam means that you are in the list of top 1,50,000students & after

that you sit in the JEE advanced exam. You need to rank under 15,458 in JEE Advanced exams

so that you can get admission into any NITs or better colleges.

9,885 seats available in 16- IITs & ISM Dhanbad; results on June 23, 2013

This year 9,885 seats will be available in the all the 17 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)including the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. The results will be declared on June 23 as

announced earlier.

According to information posted on the JEE Advanced website, the seats include IIT Hyderabad

(210), IIT Bhubaneswar (160), IIT Bombay (880), IIT Mandi (120), IIT Delhi (851), IIT Indore

(120), IIT Kharagpur (1341), IIT Jodhpur (200), IIT Kanpur (827), IIT Madras (838), IITGandhinagar (140), IIT Patna (200), IIT Roorkee (1105), IIT Ropar (120), IIT (BHU) Varanasi

(1090), IIT Guwahati (660) and ISM Dhanbad (1023).

In the general category 4,844 seats are available followed by 2,599 in Backward Classes (non-

creamy layer), 1437 for Scheduled Castes, 721 for Scheduled Tribes, 140 for General Physical

Disability candidates, 75 for OBC Physical Disability, 44 for SC and 25 for ST PhysicalDisability candidates.

Fee structure

The IITs have also announced the fee structure for this year. Total payable fee at the time of

admission for each IIT includes IIT Bhubaneswar (Rs. 68,600), IIT Bombay (Rs. 67,876), IITDelhi (Rs. 56,635), IIT Gandhinagar (Rs. 62,600), IIT Guwahati (Rs. 56,600), IIT Jodhpur (Rs.

68,750), IIT Kanpur (Rs. 66,517), IIT Kharagpur (Rs. 57,876), IIT Madras (Rs. 54,927), IT

Mandi (Rs. 62,300), IIT Patna (Rs. 60,250), IIT Roorkee (Rs. 63,820), IIT Ropar (Rs. 58,650),IIT (BHU) Varanasi (Rs. 66,200) and ISM Dhanbad (Rs. 49,842) .

However, fee will be much less for SC and ST candidates. Students also have to pay the mess

charges additionally that vary for each institute. IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore are yet to decideon the fee structure.

Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2014:Students securing a place in the rank list of

State and Central Boards:Those, who are eligible for INSPIRE scholarship by Department of

Science and Technology (DST) on the basis of their aggregate scores in class XII may be

considered for admission after clearing an aptitude test.

NITTTRs (National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research)are meant for the training

institutes for the technical teachers. These institutes were established in mid 1960s for training of
