FOR OVER TEN YEARS THE TOUR DE FRANCE HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTING MEASURES TO REDUCE ITS IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT.After the communities, The Agency for the sustainable development (ARPE Midi-Pyrénées), The Connexions and the Assembly of French Departments (ADF), you too can play a major role in our campaign.

Our priorities: « the reduction of CO2 emissions;« the management and recycling of waste.

I AM A RIDER:«I will use the bins positioned at the start and end of

the feed zones in which to throw my rubbish during the race (water bottles and wrappers);

« outside of the feed zone I will put my rubbish in my pockets.

I AM PART OF THE RACE CONVOY: « I will switch off my engine if I am stationary for more

than one minute;« I will try to carpool whenever possible;« I will try to drive in a more environmentally friendly

manner by adapting my speed (less pollution, less fuel consumption);

« I will use the recycling bins put at my disposal (in the village, the technical zone, the finish area…). Whenever there are no bins, I will keep the rubbish to throw away later.

I AM PART OF THE ADVERTISING CARAVAN:« I will dispose of all packaging (cardboard boxes, plastic

wrapping) in the skips situated in the advertising Caravan parking areas. Littering will not be tolerated;

« I will ask the public to keep hold of any free gifts from the advertising Caravan.

I RECYCLE

IT DOESN’T TAKE MUCH TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT!

The end of the finish line is a restricted zone. The riders’ safety is paramount. Their supervision and that of the media takes priority. If you find yourself in this zone for any reason, you must leave the area when the siren sounds announcing the last ten kilometres. Tour controllers and authorized ASO personnel will be responsible for verifying the validity of your presence and will withdraw your accreditation if necessary.
