Exploring the distinctive way of nomadic life is an inseparable part of this tour. Day 1 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, city tour Our company’s guide and driver will greet you at the airport/railway station. Depending on time of your arrival, you will be taken on a city sightseeing tour including a visit to the central square to see the Chinggis Khaans monument, followed by a drive to the war memorial on Zaisan hill, which also provides an opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar. Also, we will visit the National History Museum and Gandantegchilen monastery which is the center of Mongolian Buddhism. Accommodation: ***hotel. (L+D).

Day 2 Flight to Dalanzadgad, provincial center of Southgobi province Take an early flight to Dalanzadgad. Meet the team of Virgin Nature at Dalanzadgad airport and drive to a tourist camp. After lunch, drive to Yoliin Am/ Eagle Valley, one of the beautiful valleys of Gobi Gurban Saikhan Mountains, possible to approach by car. Main habitats of the valley are golden eagles and very shy mountain sheep and ibexes. The valley was named after the golden eagles. Approximately, 4-5 km hiking into depths of the beautiful valley. Day 3 Khongor Sand Dunes The tour will continue to Khongor sand dunes, the largest sand dunes in Mongolia. First, we will get the tourist camp and after some relaxing, we will drive to the sand dunes. After reaching the sand dunes, go hiking along the green river shore, climb sand dunes and have an hour camel riding. If you can climb one of the tallest sand dunes, don’t forget to spread sand northward from the top against wind to find that why the sand dune are called “Singing dunes” by locals. Day 4 Flamming Cliff Our adventure will continue to the Flamming cliff, where American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews found cemetery of dinosaurs and the first dinosaur eggs ever in the world. We will have some hiking through the cliffs and see the Gobi tree grove that named “Bayanzag”. Bayanzag, literally means “rich in saxual trees”. This tree only grows in central Asian Gobi. Day 5 Drive to Ongi Monastery on the endless steppes Ongi monastery was one of the biggest 7 monasteries in Mongolia, which was built on the shores of the Ongi river surrounded by Gobi mountains. The monastery was destroyed during socialist purge of 1930s. Now the ruins of the monasteries involves a huge area, a new active temple and temple museum. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 6 Karkhorin, Erdenezuu Monastery Our today’s tour takes place on the transition zone from the Gobi desert to mountain steppe. Kharkhorin, formerly known as Karakorum, was once a capital of Chinggis Khaan's Great Mongol Empire in the 13th century. After the move of Mongolian capital to Beijing, and the fall of the em-pire, Karakorum was abandoned and then destroyed by vengeful Manchurian soldiers in 1388. Today in the wide valley of the Orkhon river, awe-inspiring monastery Erdenezuu coexists with modern Kharkhorin village. See some valuable religious items in the monastery museum and admire its stunning architecture. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 7 Tsenkher hot spa Today again is one of the days you will be fascinated by natural beauty as we continue the tour to forested steppe. The Tsenkher hot spa tourist camp is located between forested mountains. The-re you can relax in hot spa pool. Hike to the beginning of the hot spring. Accommodation: hot spa ger camp.(B+L+D).

Day 8 KhorgoTerhiinTsagaan National Park AAlong the way to the National Park, we will stop off at the Chuluut River. A rapid current river flows between deep lava canyons is the best area for fishing specially taimen, the largest fish of fresh water. The national park was established to project the spectacular mountain scenery and endangered species of flora & fauna. Within the national park area, there are several extinct vol-canoes. The most spectacular and the most accessible one is Khorgo volcano. Astonishingly beautiful clear water lake Terkhiin Tsagaan was formed when the lava flow blocked the north and south Terkh rivers. The lake is renowned for its fish and birdlife, including the Ruddy Shellduck and Great Cormorant. Rare species of flowers and pine trees grow in the black volcanic soil and ancient lava flows streak out across the meadow is home to alpine wildlife. After arrived in the national park, you can discover its surrounding as you wish. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D).

Day 9 Explore Khorgo Terkhiin Tsagaan National Park Today we will drive 12 km between the volcano and the lake on the two ways. You can climb and walk around the volcano crater if you wish. Explore some caves such as “Yellow Dog’s cave” and “Ice cave”. Watch birds while walking along the shore of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. In the afternoon, we will visit a yak herding nomad family. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D).

Day 10 Jargalant hot spa We will have an overnight stop at Jargalant hot spa resort. One third of today’s dri-ving will take place along beautiful Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan with the views of water birds. We also pass high mountain pass of a forested mountain. Hike through the forest and river shore or just relax in hot spa pool. Accommodation: hot spa ger camp. (B+L+D).

Day 11 See deer stones The deer stones spread widely in Central Asia. 600 deer stones have found in Cen-tral Asia. 500 of them were found in the territory of Mongolia. Deer stone is the first monuments of human. The earliest of it belongs to XIII-IX century BC while most of them belong to the Bronze Age. On repaired standing stones, the sun, the moon, belt, knife and deer those are jumping up sky are carved fantastically. The deer sto-nes we will see today are renowned the most clearly and well kept ones among cen-tral Asian over 600 deer stones. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D).

Day 12 Hovsgol Lake Hovsgol is the second largest fresh water lake in the world after famous Russian Baikal Lake. The beautiful, clear water lake lies 1600 m above sea level in the mid-dle of forested mountains and majestic sheer rock mountains. The lake and its sur-rounding area have much to offer its guests. Options are hiking, bird watching, climb mountain, flower watching or just relax and enjoy the nature. Motor boating and kay-aking is available at the base of additional payment. After being settled in a ger camp conveniently located on the western shore of the lake, we enjoy relaxing time in the refreshing settings of the beautiful lake. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D).

Day 13 Visit reindeer family and horse riding tour at Hovsgol lake The Reindeer/Tsaatan people live in the depths of the taiga forest. Few reindeer are the main resource of their livelihood. In summer months, mostly in July and Au-gust, few reindeer families move down from mountain close to the lake to increase their livelihood. After breakfast, we will drive to the reindeer people. Rest of the day we will spend exploring beauty of the lakes surrounding. Accommodation: ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 14 Drive to Murun to catch flight to Ulaanbaatar You will arrive in Ulaanbaatar after one and half hour flight. Check in a hotel. In the evening, see traditional dance and music performance. Accommodation: *** hotel. (B+L+D).

Day 15 Transfer to the airport/railway station. End of the tour. (B).

The tour includes: 2 nights in *** hotel, 12 nights in ger camp, four wheel driving car, English speaking gui-de, 1 hour camel and 1 hour horse riding with the support of local guides, entry fees, daily water supply, do-mestic flights and meals as indicated in the itinerary. The tour excludes: items for personal use, alcoholic drinks, beverages, international travel, visa fee, travel insurance, excess baggage charge, single supplements and small present for the nomad family and gratuity for the tour team if you won’t mind.
