12th DAY OF FOLK MUSIC MEETSANCIENT HANDICRAFTS AND REGIONAL PRODUCTSBrowse, sample and enjoy – is the motto on 28th June 2014, when the 12th Annual Day of Folk Music and the „Musica et Artificium“ Festival is taking place. The clocks will be turned back for a couple of days and children and adults will be transported into the world of yesteryear. What could be nicer or more original than listening to traditional folk music, sampling local products or inspecting ancient handicrafts in the midst of lush green meadows and the Tyrolean Mountains? Embark on a special journey to former times, joined by around 20 folk music ensembles playing musical gems from bygone years. Craftsmen including sculptors, basket weavers and schnapps makers will be on hand all day long to introduce visitors to their ancient and almost forgotten professions. Our trip down memory lane encompasses not only ancient handicrafts, but also local cuisine. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the pedestrian zone and take the opportunity to sample the strange sounding but delicious tasting local specialities, such as “Kiachla, Prügeltorte, Schiebli” and much more. And who knows, maybe you will manage to coax one of the market stall cooks to reveal one or the other secret ingredient, so you can try making these specialities back home.
