Trailblazers Open MASCAC with 3-0 LossThe MCLA Trailblazersopened conference play witha 3-0 defeat at home at thehands of the Worcester StateLancers on Saturday.

MCLA and Worcester wentback and forth early in gameone before a spurt midwaythrough opened up an eightpoint cushion for the visitors.Alyssa Jasper had five of hergame high seventeen kills ingame one as the Lancersprevailed 25-15. The story ofgame one was at the net asMCLA has eleven attackerrors, compared to just twoby the Lancers.

Game two was sloppy earlyas both teams mademistakes and exchangedpoints. The action picked uplate with the Lancers aheadby four; as both teams madesome acrobatic plays to keeprallies alive. The Trailblazersappeared to have somemomentum after winningback to back points andcutting the lead to two.However, again it would bethe Lancers that came awaywith the win 25-18. Fiveservice errors by MCLA hurttheir cause.

Worcester would jump out23-13 only to see MCLA closethe gap to 23-20 behindstrong play from SamAnderson and Darien Quick.Worcester would regroupthough and close out thegame and match 25-20.

Quick led MCLA with sevenkills and Rachel Mills wouldadd five in defeat. JackiePaluilis had ten digs and wasspectacular at times in the back row, while Courtney Parent added twelve assists.

Jasper was everywhere it seemed for the Lancers; she had seventeen digs to go along with her seventeen kills. Amanda Lewis hadtwenty-seven assists for Worcester.

Worcester moves to 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the MASCAC. They will host Westfield St. Wednesday night at 8:00pm.

MCLA falls to 7-5 and 0-1 in league play. The Trailblazers will host Framingham St. Wednesday at 7:00pm.
