Are cars merging from right or left? Are there people crossing the street? Are speedingvehicles following close behind you? Look to find out.

Keep your eyes moving and don’t stare! Check your mirrors to keep up with traffic conditions. Check it regularly so that you don’t miss any action! Bear in mind…

When changing lanes you need to make sure you have enough room. Prior to signalling, you should check to see if your path is clear and no one has moved into your blind spot.

When caught in a tight spot, manoeuvring is a little difficult. Make use of your mirrors.

4 - See if you have enough space..

Make sure you have enough space all around your vehicle, just in case you need to make a sudden escape.

Sometimes when we leave space, other drivers take it for granted and the tendency is not to leave space at all, but remember, leaving space gives you time to think and to take action.

Leave space in front. When you stop make sure you leave adequate space and you are able to see the driver’s rear tires!

Pedestrians and bicyclists can be hazards. They may not be able to see you. Let them know that you are approaching. You have to be extra careful if children are around. Children tend to run across the road while playing or simply when they want to cross the street.

Establishing eye contact helps to to avoid a collision!
