Construction and Operation
� Type FGC consists of 2 independent
3 pole and neutral switch disconnector
coupled and mechanically interlocked
by an innovative mechanism. Ratings
200 A to 1250 A in type FGC is
characterised by a compact design
with single output.
�3 distinct operating position- ‘I’, ‘O’ & ‘II’.
�Single handle operation.
�In position ‘I’, supply ‘I’ is connected to
the load and supply ‘II’ is disconnected.

disconnected.In position ‘O’, both the
supplies T and ‘I’ and disconnected
from the load.
Safety Features
� Clear indication of handle position,
door interlocking facility ensures the
safety of the operator.
�Pad locking avoids unauthorised use of
switch in ‘Off’ position.
�Handle cannot be taken to the ‘O’
position without forcefully opening of
contacts.
Design Features
� Neutral pole closes first and opens last
and hence avoids accidental over
voltage surges between phase and
neutral.
�Quick make and break mechanism
which makes the opening and closing
of the contacts independent of speed
and operation.
�Torque required for switch operation is
low.
�Knife type contact system with self-
wipe feature cleans the contact
automatically during opening and
closing.
�No joint between the terminal and
the fixed contact results low watt loss.
�Moulded case design frame parts
of non-f lammable glass f ibre
are reinforced polyester with high
mechanical and electrical track
resistance with low water absorbtion.

Components of motorised kit
� transmission with mechanical locking
in ‘O’ position. It is mounted
directly to the Changeover Switch.
�Built-in Electrical Input/output control
unit-controls the correct working of the
motorised operation, managing the
inputs and outputs of the system.
�Control and signalling units - to
interface with the user. Options can be
made for:
- Manual
- Auto (Local / Remote or through
RS 485 port)
- Lock (Manual / Auto operation not
possible)
� Manual handle for emergency
operation.
