We strive to achieve guest satisfaction in exceeding the expectations of our guests, thus, when creating this list our main inspiration was none other than you! We truly hope that you will enjoy what we have to offer. This wine list was carefully selected to satisfy every taste bud and to accompany our many favourite dishes. We have used the ratings of the Diners Club Platters Wine Guide ★☆ from 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 due to our wine lists wide variety of vintage years and because it agrees with our consumers and we find it an amazing guide for all South African wine lovers. We have also included some food pairing recommendations that we think you might enjoy. You will notice that the last page is a list of wines that we don’t usually stock, this is because we raided our General Managers’ secret stash of indulgence after his trip to the winelands and we decided to make a secret wine list just for you; In this wine list you will find unique wines from different farms. This wine list was carefully selected to satisfy every taste bud and to accompany our many favourite dishes.

Anura Legato 2016 (Simmonsberg) R125.00 | R45.00/Glass

Coffee, cherry and spices on the nose whilst having flavours of plum and

berries as well as a light wood on the palate a nice tannin and beautiful

smooth finish. A good red to try with red meat if you enjoy the Anura

Sauvignon Blanc. FOOD PAIRING: Appreciate this wine as a glass around a

table with friends and family or try it with a roast beef and a sweet gravy

for full flavour.

Anura Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (Stellenbosch) R125.00 | R45.00/Glass

This bottle delivers a lovely tropical medley of lush lemon aromas which are complimented by a wonderful mineral tone. Alluring mineral and

passionfruit notes provide added interest, complementing the crisp,

refreshing profile of the wine. FOOD PAIRING: To enjoy on its own or with

a parmesan chicken fillet and salad.

Ken Forrester Petit Chenin Blanc 2018

(Stellenbosch) ★★★ R120.00 | R39.00/Glass

Easy drinking wine with tropical fruits, apples, pears and pineapple on the

nose the palate is just as fruity and light. A great young wine at a great

price.

FOOD PAIRING: Biltong and pasta salad with dried cranberries and green peppers.

Ken Forrester Petit Sauvignon Blanc 2018

(Stellenbosch) ★★★

R120.00 | R39.00/Glass

A light white with typical Sauvignon grape attributes such as a tropical

and fig nose but an acidic pineapple and citrus flavour and a lingering

finish. FOOD PAIRING: Do enjoy this bottle with either a smoked oaky

chicken salad or a chicken and strawberry salad, adding peaches would

bring out the true flavour of the wine

Ken Forrester Petit Range Pinotage 2018

(Western Cape) ★★★☆

R120.00 | R39.00/Glass

Another easy drinking wine for the Petit range, earthy and blackberry

nose with some strawberry and cherry flavours. One of the favourites on

the South Coast as it is an easy drinker. FOOD PAIRING: Try this wine with

a rustic venison hot pot.

Sauvignon Blanc

Bruce Jack 2018 (Western Cape) R135.00

Aromas of gooseberry, apple and lemon. This is a typical South African Sauvignon Blanc and delivers a dry yet medium acidity with lemon, lime

and apple on the tongue. FOOD PAIRING: This wine is perfect with some

soft cheeses or a fresh garden salad.

Diemersfontein 2018

(Western Cape) ★★★

A tropical and apple nose welcomes a fresh aroma followed by a pineapple

and passionfruit taste this delicate wine ends off with a citrus taste and

lingers in the palate for an acidic finish. This is a great wine to have crisp

and cold. FOOD PAIRING: To enjoy with our mouth-watering grilled prawns and garlic sauce.

Durbanville Hills Collectors Reserve 2017

(Durbanville, Cape Town) ★★★★ R305.00

The Cape Mist is a pleasant dry white that is so easy to drink because of

its well-balanced palate, it is light yet acidic and fresh aromas of citrus, limes and apples followed through by a tangy passionfruit and gooseberry

taste. This wine will always be a favourite of mine. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy

this wine with a lovely poached line fish and leafy greens.

Fryers Cove Bamboes Bay 2014 (Bamboes

Bay) ★★★★ R249.50

With vineyards 820m from the Atlantic Ocean, the wine has a complexity of flavours of passion fruit, gooseberry, litchi, green figs, kelp and some

minerality. FOOD PAIRING: To be enjoyed with white meat, green salads,

asparagus and creamy pasta or even on its own nice and chilled.

Hermanuspietersfontein Kaalvoet Meisie

2017 (Sondagskloof) ★★★★ R213.00

This breath of fresh air for our wine collection is just a must taste, it has

herbaceous aromas such as fynbos and blossoms as well as apples. A bright yellow/green colour and finishes off with a very dry but pleasant

mineral palate. FOOD PAIRING: I had a glass of this wine with smoked

salmon and cream cheese and fell in love with this combination.

Welcoming notes of gooseberries and herbs, a light taste complimented by flavours of young fruits and the freshness of grass. A lingering dry

finish. FOOD PAIRING: A thirst-quenching palate that is perfect on its own

or enjoyed with a light Grilled Hake and Salad.

Lyngrove 2018 (Stellenbosch) ★★★ R134.00

Tropical and grassy flavours with a well-balanced tone of limes, apples

and pears. A slight hint of pineapple on the nose. FOOD PAIRING: A Thai

Green curry with chicken and marrow noodles.

Robertson Wine Makers Selection 2018

(Robertson) ★★☆ R105.00 | R35.00/Glass

This wine delivers a lot of apple, bell peppers and grass to the nose. It has

a refreshing aftertaste and a crisp acidity. FOOD PAIRING: This wine will

serve perfectly on its own or with a chicken Caesar salad.

The wine has developed voluptuous, complex nose rich in sun drenched

apricot, peach complemented by a well-integrated wood character. A

crisp mouth feels with flavours of citrus fresh lime, velvety creaminess

and a lingering citrus aftertaste with the wood in harmony. FOOD

PAIRING: Enjoy this bottle with a creamy vegetable soup.

Protea 2018 (Western Cape) ★★★ R115.00

Hints of lemon, apples and some tropical fruit yet bold and creamy on the

tongue complimented by the uncomplicated citrus and oak flavours. FOOD

PAIRING: Will go perfect with our mussel potjie.

Chenin Blanc

Diemersfontein 2018

(Wellignton) ★★★☆ R124.00

A strong nose of tropical fruits as well as tree fruits and some lime

followed through by guava and pears, very acidic and dry makes for a

good Chenin to have at any time. FOOD PAIRING: Have this with a nice fruit chutney curry made by Chef Joe with dried peaches and sultanas.

Gabrielskloof 2018

(Western Cape) ★★★★ R220.00

Extra body on this one provided by some Semillon, lemon peels and pairs on the nose with abundance of green apples and a very acidic finish.

Perfect for the Chenin lovers out there, not to have it too cold but chilled

just below room temperature will reveal the true flavours of this Chenin.

FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy this wine with a smoked salmon salad and

strawberries.

Kaapzicht 2018 (Stellenbosch) ★★★☆ R118.00

Light and unwooded with a nose of pineapple and tropical notes, flavours

of peaches and apricots resulting in a crisp and refreshing finish. FOOD

PAIRING: I would recommend this wine with a roast pork belly and apple sauce.

Kleine Zalze Cellar Selection 2018 (Coastal

Region) ★★★☆ R119.00

A well-balanced wine with a sweet nose like tinned guava and peaches,

fresh and crisp on the palate with green fruits such as melon, green

apples and a tanginess that makes for a short finish. FOOD PAIRING: This

wine will go down well with a smoked black pepper tuna steak that we

smoke ourselves accompanied with a creamy sauce.

Remhoogte First Light 2017 (Stellenbosch) ★

★★★ R160.00 | R55.00/Glass

A very light wine with aromas of lemon zest and citrus followed by a

tongue filled with flavours of tropical fruits and very lightly wooded. This

is a very easy drinking white wine that is very light in body. FOOD

PAIRING: I would recommend this with a cheeses like aged peppadew

Gouda or sweet chilli cream cheese.

Spier Signature 2018

(Western Cape) ★★★☆

Tropical fruits on the nose and hints of nectarine, peach and pair flavours.

A medium body and easy to drink with just the right amount of acidity.

FOOD PAIRING: I would recommend paring this glass with olive tapenade on toasted rye bread or sweet and sour pork.

Ghost Corner Semillon 2012

(Elim) ★★★★☆

An aromatic Semillon with aromas of fig and white fruits. A district minerality

with an earthiness of the nose that flows onto the palate. Small amounts of

French oak add a hint of smokiness leading to a creamy but crisp acidity. FOOD

PAIRING: This wine is especially well suited for strong seafood dishes such a

yellowtail or snoek.

Org de Rac Roussanne 2017 (Swartland) ★★★

Lightly wooded with pineapple and citrus notes, crisp minerality accompanied by citrus and a lingering oak taste to the palate. It is dry yet goes down well

and smooth. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy with a creamy chicken and mushroom pasta

with basil pesto sauce and topped with grated parmesan cheese.

Rascallion Aquiver 2016

An interesting nose of caramel, apricot, fresh straw and flavours of melon, oak

and apples. A very delightful wine with a good balance of acidity and body.

FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy with Chef Joe’s vegetable curry and rice.

Allesverloren Tinta Rose 2018 (Swartland) ★★

This wine delivers welcoming notes of cherries and a subtle vanilla to the nose. The lingering aftertaste gives off flavours of raspberries and strawberries.

Well balanced between sugar and acid. FOOD PAIRING: I would recommend

this wine with a spicy chicken curry or even a good pork roast.

Red Berries, candy floss and Turkish delight comes to the nose, slightly dry but

medium and smooth on the tongue not as sweet as it smells with a long finish.

FOOD PAIRING: Try this wine with a rich chocolate cake from Chef

Mpumelelo’s kitchen.

Beautiful salmon colour with cherries and raspberries on the nose with a

creamy palate of some floral notes as well as strawberries on the tongue. A truly great rose with a well-balanced body and dry finish.

FOOD PAIRING: This is a great wine to enjoy on a warm day with a saucy

beef curry-trust me on this one.

This pink rose is off-dry with the delicious flavours of mixed red fruit,

strawberries and candyfloss playing with your taste buds. FOOD PAIRING:

This wine is the perfect appetizer and will complement fish, pasta, salads

and also spicy foods.

A vibrant salmon colour that follows through with a very sweet rose.

Everything that you can expect from a sweet wine, a floral nose with tones

of berries and sweet ripe fruits, perfect for sweet wine drinkers. FOOD

PAIRING: Enjoy with light meal like pasta and salads.

Protea Dry Rose 2018

Strawberry and candy floss come through the nose followed by a palate of the same promising perfumes a long and dry finish with some added

citrus flavours. FOOD PAIRING: A very good pairing is a fillet steak with a

strong blue cheese sauce and creamy mash.

Robertson Natural Sweet Rose ★☆ R120.00 | R39.00/Glass

Deep pink in colour and sweet smells from strawberries to fresh floral. It

follows through sweet on the tongue, easy drinkable if you enjoy sweet

wines. Food Pairing: Enjoy with seafood or on its own around our lounge

area.

Dark in colour prunes, berries and spices on the nose with a welcoming tongue of darker fruits, cherries and a smoky element. A surprisingly

sweeter side to it but enjoyable as the dryness balances the sweet.

Tannins are well balanced and a long delightful finish as expected. FOOD

PAIRING: Enjoy with our potjie competition winning lamb potjie and wild

rice.

Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection 2015

(Stellenbosch) ★★★★☆ R225.50

The wine vinified and matured in old barriques to preserve the delicate

aromas and structure of the wine. Each vintage is dedicated to one of the

children from the Ord or Arnold families. FOOD PAIRING: Pair with a

succulent steak or a mature cheddar.

Merlot Durbanville Hills Collectors Reserve 2017

(Durbanville Cape Town) ★★★★ R349.00

Spicy notes of black pepper and oak and soft tannins, dried plum, vanilla

and cherries on the tongue. Easy drinking if you are new to red merlots or

want to try a new red wine this will be a good start on our list. Acidity is

medium and bold in body a wine that I thoroughly enjoyed. FOOD PAIRING: This wine pairs well with a hearty beef stew that has a sweetness to it if

you enjoy deep reds and a curry if you prefer a lighter red.

Hermanuspietersfontein Posmeester 2017

(Western Cape) ★★★★☆ R192.00

A balance of fruits, mild woods and tannins make for an enjoyable, bold and semi acidic merlot with pepper and almost minty flavours. This wine

has a lot to offer in terms of nose and palate, uncomplicated and great

value for money as well. FOOD PAIRING: This merlot will make a great

partner for a roast lamb and mint gravy over vegetables packed with iron

such as spinach.

Black current, violet and floral fragrances. Plum and spices to the tongue,

smooth and unwooded with a full body and medium tannins. Perfect for

easy drinking and new comers to wine drinking. FOOD PAIRING: pairs well with dark chocolate and strong cheeses.

Org de Rac 2014 (Swartland) ★★★ R120.00

Initially shy on the nose but opens up to reveal red and black barriers,

some olive, and toasty oak. Sweet, rich and properly ripe on the palate.

Good depth and breadth of fruit as well as bright acidity before a savoury

finish. FOOD PAIRING: Grilled lamb chops will make a great pair with this

Merlot.

Protea 2018 (Western Cape) ★★★ R135.00

This bold wine has the perfect notes of plum and black cherry whilst delivering dark chocolate and cherry to the palate. Perfectly oaky and

smooth tannins with a well-balanced acidic finish. FOOD PAIRING: A lovely

dish to try with this wine is a good roast Lamb just the way Chef Joe

makes it.

A Medium body and dark fruits on the nose, pepper and liquorice comes

through the palate. A wine perfect with any dish and on its own. FOOD

Pinotage/ Pino Blends De Krans Pinotage Rose 2018

(Klein Karoo) ★★ R135.00

Light pink in colour shy strawberry and candy on the nose, sweet and light

on the tongue firm acidity and a good minerality, a brisk finish but easy

drinking wine nonetheless. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy this glass with a chicken and chilli wrap and enjoy what the sweet wine has to offer.

Diemersfontein 2017

(Wellington) ★★★☆ R250.00

A full body, explosion of fragrances like coffee, red fruits and ripe plums. Phenomenal structure and balanced tannins, acidity and not too dry. All

round a very good pinotage. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoyed with a venison pie

with winder vegetables.

Durbanville Hills Collectors Reserve 2016

(Durbanville Cape Town) ★★★★ R349.00

If you want to try out the Pinotage grape then this is a perfect wine to do so. Fruity on the nose and strawberry and oak on the palate, a pleasant

wood taste. A bold and perfectly balanced acidic finish. The tannins are

balanced and doesn’t over power the wine, it is so enjoyable and a

remarkable wine from Durbanville Hills. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy with an

onion and herb soup in the winter around our fireplace.

Ghost Corner Bowline Pino Noir 2015

(Elim) ★★★★☆ R340.00

Elegant and crisp. Plum, violet and cloves on the nose. The palate in full

force with a burst of flavours and light tannins yet somewhat acidic. An

excellent wine by David Nieuwoudt as expected. It gets better by age.

FOOD PAIRING: Creamy Chicken soup does this wine justice on a cold

winter’s day.

Survivor 2016 (Swartland) ★★★★ R300.00

A barrel-matured wine with hearty fruit flavours including prune, plum

and cherry are complemented by elegant notes of spice and cedar. FOOD

PAIRING: to enjoy with our slow cooked lamb shank and mashed potatoes.

Shiraz Bruce Jack 2018 (Western Cape) R135.00 | R47.00/Glass

Black liquorish, plum and cherry aromas come to the nose and pepper,

undertones of sour berries around the mouth an interesting finish with a

semi-sweet dry note. FOOD PAIRING: Enjoyed with a brisket on the braai with potato salad and marinated chicken.

Kevin Arnold 2012

(Stellenbosch) ★★★★☆ R350.00

Vibrant dark fruit, earthy clove pepper spice leads the aromatics,

accompanied by soft liquorice undertones. Natural acidity and the classic

granular tannins are very characteristic of the voluptuous nature of a

Stellenbosch Shiraz grape. FOOD PAIRING: We recommend this bottle

with a portion of Chef Joe’s minted lamb and potato pie.

An interesting blend made for everyday drinking. Generously weighted on

the palate with soft tannins supporting the delicate fruit flavour and oaky

finish. FOOD PAIRING: Can be enjoyed on its own or with our biltong and

rocket salad.

Red Blends & Single Cultivars Allesverloren Tinta Barocca 2016 (Swartland)

★★★★ R257.50

Somewhat shy on the nose with a peak of vanilla, well balanced on the tongue with a medium body and spices on the tongue. A pleasant berry

and oak taste and well-structured tannins and a lingering finish. A perfect

wine for lunch time. FOOD PAIRING: Pairs well with a fillet and mustard

medallion.

Allesverloren Red Muscadal 2018 (Swartland)

A sweet and fruity wine pleasant to the palate that is somewhat creamy

and gentle hints of cinnamon and rich grapes tot the nose. A good balance

of acidity finishes the mouth off with a lingering after taste. FOOD

PAIRING: Enjoy this wine with creamed cheese and crackers topped off

with smoked ham.

Savoury aromatics with juniper and strong oak leading to dried herbs and

black olive. FOOD PAIRING: Easy to drink on its own, or enjoy with our

lamb spring rolls and olive tapenade on basil pesto bread.

De Krans A Twist of Fate 2016 (Calitzdorp) ★

Cherries on the nose, a subtle oak and earthiness to the palate with notes

of strawberries. Soft tannins and a balanced acidic after taste. FOOD

PAIRING: Pairs wonderfully with our crunchy and butterscotch

pannacotta.

De Krans Tritonia 2013

(Caltizdorp) ★★★★ R430.00

With Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarella and Souzao grapes this wine delivers dark chocolate, mulberries and

spices to our noses with a palate of the same spices, prunes, oak, mocha

and ripe berries. It is something different and well-rounded tannins,

acidity and a full body. Strong yet smooth and all round a good blend.

FOOD PAIRING: Try this glass with tender roast lamb and mint jelly.

De Krans Touriga Nacional 2014 (Calitzdorp)

★★★★ R245.00

A beautiful red colour very cherry lipstick like. A nose full of fruits such as

berries and ripe red fruits, floral notes and chocolate. A flavourful palate

of tinned cherries charred wood, violets and spices. Greatly balanced

tannins and complimented acidity finishing off in a lingering aftertaste of a

full-bodied wine. FOOD PAIRING: Balsamic beef carpaccio with a bed of

leafy greens.

Diemersfontein Harlequin 2017 (Western

Cape) ★★★ R124.00 | R42.00/Glass

A Pinotage, Shiraz blend with chocolate and black current on the nose,

Shiraz spices and berries on the palate. It is bold in body and more

tannins than a usual blend and a nice balance of acidic tongue. FOOD

PAIRING: Once opened leave to breathe for about 10 mins and enjoy with a herb crusted lamb rack.

RED BLENDS & SINGLE CULTIVARS

Fairview Tannat 2012 (Paarl) ★★★☆ R260.00

A nose of coffee, cherry and spices while being full in tannins and spicy

taste buds with a bold body and juicy berries ending in a lingering finish on the tongue. A firm acidity and structure make for a very interesting blend.

FOOD PAIRING: Do enjoy this wine with a beef dish, try our beef curry

with this glass.

Gabrielskloof the Blend 2016

(Bot River) ★★★★ R220.00

Leather and ripe berry on the nose, a velvety taste of creamy fruit and

oak. This dark wine is well structured and well rounded. Mouth pleasing

flavours and a strong nose. Definitely something to try if you like South

African Bordeaux blends. FOOD PAIRING: Try this wine with our rich oxtail and wine sauce.

Kleine Zalze SMV Vineyard Selection 2016

(Western Cape) ★★★★ R280.00

Perfumed red fruits and black berries in this full-bodied bottle, the tongue

invites ruby’s and spices and a smokey flavour. A soft palate with a

sweetish aftertaste. An expressive viognier blend that has a soft

personality. FOOD PAIRING: Mutton and sun-dried tomato hot pot will

compliment this wine as its best.

Raka Quinary 2015

(Klein River) ★★★★☆ R240.00

Black cherry, tea leaves and oak come through the nose with medium

tannins and slightly high in acidity a decent body yet complex and smooth. Peaks of vanilla leaves for a fruity lingering aftertaste. This is a brilliant

wine of its vintage and the consistency remains from the vintage before.

is sweet but not over powering with guava on the palate. FOOD PAIRING: This

This wine never disappoints and always delivers bold fruits and tannins to the palate. Cherries, black currents, mixed spices and plums on the nose while invading the tongue with

pepper, dark chocolate and a concentrated earthiness. Well-rounded soft tannins and full of texture. FOOD PAIRING: A perfect pairing would have to be the rump steak with a blue

rock cheese sauce, I had this pairing with for the first time tasting this wine.
