DESCRIPTION
The Story: Bombolulu Workshop is a programme of The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya. A nonprofit organization, Bombolulu employs over 70 full-time artisans (and an additional 40-50 based on demand) with various physical disabilities helping them to overcome their physical limitations and empowering them economically and socially to become fully integrated members of their communities. In addition to providing work, Bombolulu also provides housing units for approximately 90% of the artisans. These artisans also receive medical benefits and school fee support for their children. The center also runs a clinic, nursery school, social hall, training in HIV prevention and much more! Bombolulu is a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.
