ENGLISH 10 UNIT 2: YOUR BODY AND YOUCOMMUNICATION AND CULTUREI. Objectives:By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:- review old vocabulary related to parts/ systems of the body.- apply appropriate technique ( Q&A, interview ) to talk about the activities- be aware of importance of physical activities that are good for our health .- get knowledge of some health traditional beliefs and practices in Viet Nam and Indonesia.

Warmer (5)Lucky numbers:- Ask students if they want to play game.- Divide the whole class into three groups

- Show on slide a box with 6 number from 1 6.

- Ask each group to choose a number and see the pictures to guess the name of systems of the body . The group having the answer say stop the bus . If the answer is correct, they will get 10 marks.

-Check and give the correct answers.- Suggested answers:

1. Digestive System2. Respiratory System3. Nervous System4. Skeletal System5. Lucky number6. Video clip Circulatory System-Read the whole systems Lead-in : What activities do you often do to make these systems healthy ?

- Listen to the instructions.- Choose a number and guess what systems are.

- Say Stop the bus to give the answers.

Task 2: -Lead in : As we all know, the activities above are good for our health but how good it is, today we're going to do an interview on this topic -Give students the question forms and suggested answer:

1. What is your favourite sport/ physical activities

I like to play (football/volleyball/field hockey/....).

I quite like (yoga / running / jogging / ...) because you do not need (special equipment / too much money / much place / ......)

I like outdoor sports such as (climbing/ hiking / canoeing / snowboarding / .)

2. How often do you practise it?

I play it (with my friends/ after school/ at the weekend/ once a week ....). We have training .............a week. 3/ What are the health benefits of this activity?

It can help you..

Task 3: - Ask Ss to work in group and make a list of all the possible activities that are good for nervous system and then write it on the miniboard. .Which group has the most good ideas will be a winner

- Call some groups to report their groups opinions to the class and give reasons for their choices. - Give feedback- Look at the pictures and answer the questions- Work in pairs & answer the questions.- Make conversations in front of class

-Show the sentence about health beliefs & practices and ask Ss to decide:

+ If it belongs to Vietnam or Indonesia.

+ If it belongs to the causes/ the methods/ the purposes/ the advantages-Ten points for each correct answer.Task 1-Ask Ss to read the table in 2 minutes

-Ask Ss to work in pairs to make a conversation about the similarities and differences in health beliefs and practices between two countries.- Give an example- Call some Ss to ask them:+ Are there any similarities in health beliefs and practices between Viet Nam and Indonesia? Could you explain your answer?

+ Could you find some differences in health beliefs and practices between Viet Nam and Indonesia?

- Call some pairs to present their conversation.

- Give feedback and correct the mistakes if necessary.

Task 2- Show some pictures of traditional therapy - Ask ss if they know another traditional therapy- Ask ss some guiding questions about the knowledge about the therapy.+ Where does the therapy come from?

+What is it method? Using herbs or therapies?+ How does it helps us in treating the ill?

+ etc-Ask ss to choose one traditional therapy they know then work in pairs to ask and answer like the model.- Ask ss to go to the board and present their ideas about one therapy that they know.-Give feedback and correct the mistakes if necessary.

-Try to guess the meaning of these words

-Listen and repeat the new words in chorus and individually-Take note

Each group receives flags of Vietnam and Indonesia.

-Discuss in group and give the answers by raising the flags.-Read the tableWork in pairs make the conversation-Answer teachers questions

-Make conversations in front of class.-Take note-Look at the picture and find out the traditional theraphy-Listen to the instruction
