Who is the American Society of Fitness Professionals?

• The ASFP is a Non-Profit Trade Association.

• The ASFP represents Certified fitness professionals.

• The ASFP is founded by fitness professionals for fitness

professionals.

• The ASFP is comprised of medical and fitness industry insight.

What is our initiatives?

The primary purpose of the ASFP is unifying all certified

health/fitness professionals to provide minimal fitness professional

standards through a “general assembly” vote. Some of the issue

covered are

Where is the ASFP Headquarters?

The ASFP headquarters is located in

Washington, DC.

The ASFP will work with National, State,

and Local legislation regarding the fitness

profession and programs surrounding

physical activity

How do we unify the industry?

The ASFP’s solutions to fitness professional

issues are to

• Gather all certified fitness professionals into a

“general assembly”.

• Construct diverse open committees to provide

insight on standards and practices.

• Have the “general assembly” vote on the

standards.

• Implement the standards set forth by the

general assembly.

The ASFP’s solutions to operating innovatively for

cost effectiveness and optimal outcomes are to

• provide online voting for membership

• provide online interactive Board of Directors meetings

• build partnerships with the medical and fitness industries to cross over print and media outlets

• provide a platform for effective self regulation

Who is on the Board?

The ASFP Board of Directors will be comprised of ASFP staff

(non-vote) and 9 certified practicing fitness professionals.

Directors will serve a two (2) year term and cannot serve

consecutive terms.
