The big picTure

The moment you step onto campus, you’ll know this is where you

belong. Our students, faculty and staff are quick to smile, show you

around and offer encouragement. At UNC, we believe education is as much about the journey as it is the destination. That’s why your experience will be filled with

personal discovery, lasting connections and knowledge that uncovers all

that life can truly offer.

The place we call home

UNC is located in Greeley, a friendly community of 90,000 in the heart of

northern Colorado. You’ll enjoy 340 days of sunshine, community festivals and celebrations, movie theaters, an indoor ice rink and live entertainment venues. We’re

also just a short drive to Denver, Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National

Park and ski resorts.

uNc360Education isn’t just about the lectures you’ve attended or the requirements you’ve checked off

a list. It’s about the experiences you’ve had along the way. UNC360 incorporates five areas of

engaged learning :

Research and creative work Our students conduct research on subjects such

as violence and ethics in U.S.-Mexico borderlands, the native peoples who roamed the region 10,000

years ago, anti-cancer agents in snake venom and the performance of robotic devices in zero-gravity

environments.

Civic engagement UNC students can be found coaching at-risk youth, organizing Relay

for Life teams or providing free counseling services to the community. How will you get involved?

Global experiences We offer hundreds of study abroad programs in over 50 countries

and for every major. Our commitment to learning in a global environment also includes global

service opportunities and international academic student exchange programs.

Leadership and activities Develop leadership skills by getting involved in the

Stryker Institute for Leadership Development, the President’s Leadership Program, Student Senate

and a variety of other opportunities.

Professional experience Opportunities for community service, internships,

student teaching, fieldwork, student mentoring and clinical placement programs provide you with

hands-on experience.

Page 8: University of Northern Colorado Quick Look

One of the great things about UNC is the energy on our campus. There are so many ways

for you to get involved and become part of the action.
