A university student charged with sexually assaulting a fellowstudent allegedly claimed he was reenacting scenes from theFifty Shades of Grey film.
Mohammad Hossain used belts to restrain his alleged victimduring the attack on Saturday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The bionuclear engineering student took the woman back to hisdormitory room and told her to strip for him. He then bound herlegs and hands to a bed before attacking her, according to thepaper.
He hit her several times, the Assistant State's Attorney SarahKarr was reported as saying. The woman reportedly respondedby telling him to stop and “began shaking her head and crying”,to which he hit her repeatedly with a belt and his fists. Hossainthen allegedly sexually assaulted her.

When his roommate arrived and attempted to open the door,Hossain held it shut. His alleged victim was eventually allowed toleave and contacted police.
He reportedly told police he and the woman were reenacting ascenes from the Fifty Shades film.
Hossain's lawyer Sandra Bennewitz told a Cook County criminalcourt judge that her client was “involved with several UICleadership programs, was a student ambassador to the alumniassociation and was on the triathlon team”.
“Sandra, how can someone involved in all that let a moviepersuade him to do something like this?” asked Judge AdamBourgeois Jr.
“He would say that it was consensual,” she replied, according tothe Tribune.
Hossain was charged with one count of aggravated criminalsexual assault.
