New version of the admission and acceptance regulations for the Master’s programme Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability at Faculty VII – Economics and Management at the Technische Universität Berlin In accordance with Section 18 paragraph 1 no. 1 of the Constitution of the Technische Universität Berlin, Section 71 paragraph 1 no. 1 of the law on higher education institutions in the state of Berlin (Berlin Higher Education Act: BerlHG) in the version of 26 July 2011 (GVBl. [Law and Ordinance Gazette] p. 378) in conjunction with Section 10 of the Act on admissions to higher education institutions in Berlin in the version of 18 June 2005 (GVBl. p. 393), last amended through Article I G on introducing a sport profile quota when allocating university places of 26 June 2013 (GVBl. p. 198) the Faculty Council of Faculty VII – Economics and Management at the Technische Universität Berlin has adopted the following admission and acceptance regulations for the Master’s programme Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship*) on [date].

Extension of the name

The name Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship is going to be extended by the sector Sustainability and in the whole study and examination regulations presumed as Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability.

General provisions Sec 1 Area of Application These admission and acceptance regulations in conjunction with the constitution of the Technische Universität Berlin apply to the conduct of the university’s own selection process for study programmes with restricted admission (AuswahlSa) in the version applicable from time to time in relation to the rules for admission, acceptance and selection on the Master’s programme Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability.

Sec 2 Coming into force/going out of force (1) These admission and acceptance regulations come into

force for application processes from the winter semester 2017/18 onwards.

(2) The admission regulations for the Master’s programme Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship of 15 October 2014 (AMBl [Gazette] 11/2015 TU p.) go out of force when these admission and acceptance regulations come into force.

II. Admission Sec 3 Admission requirements In addition to the general admission requirements in accordance with Sections 10 to 13 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG) the admission requirements are: 1. A first university degree in a study programme in economics, social sciences, engineering sciences, natural sciences or a related study programme. 2. Applicants whose mother tongue is not English and who gained their first university degree in a study programme not held in English must provide proof of their proficiency in English at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). III. Acceptance Sec 4 Applications The application for admission must be submitted to the relevant office in the Technische Universität central administration. The following must be submitted with the application: 1. The documents as required in the application form in the original version or a certified copy. The form of applications will be set down by the relevant office in the central administration.

2. A certified copy of the transcript of records for all attainments gained at HEIs recognised by the state which show the credit points gained in each module (or in the case of non-modular curricular, in another suitable form, such as a key showing the study hours completed in each semester week).

3. If necessary, proof of additional requirements in accordance with Section 3 paragraph 2 and selection criteria in accordance with Section 6 paragraph 3. Sec 5 Selection criteria The selection is based on the following criteria: 1. The overall grade gained in the previous study programme (weighting: 60 of 100)

2. Subjects studied in the previous study programme (weighting: 40 of 100)

Sec 6 Selection process (1) The number of participants in the selection process can be restricted by the degree of qualification. The selection committee takes the decision on restriction at the start of the selection process.

(2) In the selection process, the selection committee allocates up to 100 points for the criteria in accordance with Section 5 no. 1 in accordance with the following table:

(3) Subject-related knowledge acquired in the previous study programme is also a source of information about the candidates’ suitability for this programme. Up to 100 points are allocated for the criterion in accordance with Section 5 no. 2 in accordance with the following rules: i. Subjects in the field of entrepreneurship comprising at least 6 credit points (20 points)

ii. Subjects in the field of innovation management comprising at least 6 credit points (20 points) iii. Subjects in the field of mathematics of comprising at least 6 credit points (20 points) iv. Subjects in the field of statistics comprising at least 6 credit points (20 points) v. Subjects in the fields of ecological and social sustainability comprising at least 6 credit points (20 points) (4) The selection committee prepares a ranking list, giving

reasons, with the points achieved based on the selection criteria.

Sec 7 Acceptance decision (1) The relevant office of the central university administration takes the decision on acceptance after completion of the selection process on the basis of the points gained in the selection process and the resulting ranking list.

(2) Selected candidates will immediately receive notification of admission in which the deadline for written acceptance of the study place and registration are specified. If the candidate does not accept the place within the deadline, the place will be offered to the next candidate on the ranking list as in Section 6 no. 4.

(3) Candidates who are not accepted for the study programme will receive notification of rejection, giving reasons.

The study programme may be completed as a part-time study programme. The study programme coordination is helpful when it comes to preparing an individual study schedule.

3 Students who are studying under a dual degree agreement complete these modules at the partner university abroad as set down in the relevant agreement. 4 Under dual degree agreements, the master’s thesis may be completed at the partner university.The requirement is a stay in accordance with Section 5

paragraph 6 no. a. The partner university’s relevant conditions apply, which have been recognised by the Technische Universität in the agreement.
