As everyone knows graduate assistants are vital members of the Troy University Athletic Training family. In May 2010 Kyle Blackman graduated from Troy University with his MS in Sport and Fitness Management and will be serving as a full year intern with the Washington Redskins during the 2010-2011 season. Kyle is a 2007 graduate of Franklin College in Indiana. Prior to his time at Troy, Kyle was the head athletic trainer for the Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League. During his time at Troy University Kyle served as and ATC with Troy Football team while supervising students as an Approved Clinical Instructor. “I love doing practical teaching in the athletic setting,” said Blackman. For Kyle it has been a journey of hard work to get to the NFL. “Networking, experience, and hard work have all been key factors in helping me get to this point,” stated Blackman. Kyle’s primary responsibilities with the Redskins will be overseeing athletic training students and setup for practices and games. We would like to wish Kyle the best of luck in the NFL.

Senior Receives PFATS Ethnic Minority Scholarship With NFL
J Michael Gunn, a senior Athletic Training student from Montgomery Alabama, received the PFATS Ethnic Minority Scholarship with the NFL. This scholarship allowed J Michael to serve as an intern with the Denver Broncos during their training camp in July and August in Denver Colorado where he worked with the linebackers. This was a huge honor to be selected for this national award and this is the first time a Troy University student has received this scholarship. J Michael will bring his newly acquired skills back to Troy as he completes his clinical rotation with Troy University Football during the 2010 season.

You forget what is
in style. because to
you khaki and a

everyday outfit!
Your friends/family
come to you to see
if you think they
should go to the
doctor when they
hurt themselves.
Your first answer
for treatment is
"ice" and last

is "don't forget to
ice".
You realize that

Do you remember the long, cold rainy days in Sartain Parking lot? Who can forget the fans, referees and coaches yelling at you because they had to pay $3.00 to park! Unfortunately as many of you have heard Troy University no longer hosts the regional basketball tournament so there is no more week long parking for the AT club student fundraiser! However, in true Trojan fashion the student club has made lemonade out of lemons and is working the parking lots at all HOME TROY FOOTBALL GAMES. This year the students want to attend the NATA National conference in New Orleans so all of the money they earn is going toward this event. If you see them in the lots, be sure to introduce yourself as a Alumni of the AT Program!
NO MORE BASKETBALL PARKING!!!
