Top-level design for a complete rangeof LED luminaires studied to meet alllighting requirements of urban areas.The introduction of new lighting polesfor Archilede and Lavinia, with largersize for Delphi and Lavinia bodies,and of the wiring-suspended Argo forinstallation in areas where the useof lighting poles or wall-mountedluminaires is not feasible, increasesthe potential and versatility of thisfamily. The technology has beenstudied to achieve maximum energysaving with minimum environmental

impact (up to 464000 kW h and195000 kg Co2 for 1,000 luminairesper year) together with excellentvisual comfort. These luminairesachieve a dramatic reduction ofrunning costsin public lighting installations, withthe same lighting performance asconventional light sources. They guarantee uniform light,without shadows and without upwarddispersion of the light flux, makingan effective contribution for thereduction of lighting pollution.

Energy Saving

The first step in energy savingpolicies is to reduce instances ofwastefulness. With the EUP Directivethe European Community intendsto eliminate from the marketproducts with excessive energyconsumption and replace themwith more efficient products.Especially in the field of publiclighting, these actions areimmediately tangible and visible.

Public administrations acknowledgeimprovements in terms of savingand environmental impact, whilecitizens perceive an improvementof their lifestyle.Energy saving is only one of theadvantages delivered by luminaireswith innovative technologies, such asLEDs, the highest benefit being thereduction of running costs comparedwith traditional light sources.

Energy saving policies have acquireda central role also in the lightingsector, not only for the economicadvantages, but also for theenvironmental benefits derived fromthem. The use of the innovative opticwith LED technology, which ensuresthe same level of illumination anduniformity as conventional lightsources with lower power, togetherwith intelligent electronics andtwilight photocell to regulate theswitch-on of the lampby taking full advantage of daylight,allows iGuzzini innovative optics todeliver efficient lighting in urbanstreets and areas, while guaranteeingmaximum energy saving andconsiderable reduction of CO2

emission in the atmosphere.

Self-learning profileThe self-learning profile provides formidnight detection thanks to a specialalgorithm. By reducing the wattage of the fitting according to therecommended profile, the averagesaving is +20%, in addition to thesaving obtained by using the systems.

The profile permits to modify thewattage emitted in max. 6 stepsand is based on the latitude andlongitude of Rome.Customised profiles can be createdwith a specific software, for midnightdetection in the main cities of the world.

Moreover, the operation mode can becustomised and saved in the drivermemory using a USB interface.

Personalised profilesIn addition to 4 default operationmodes, you can programme scenesand profiles as desired, with orwithout self-learning, using adedicated software. The modificationis saved in a USB interface.By inserting the key in the USB drive,the operation profiles are automaticallyreplaced by the new ones. Downloadand upload operations are possible.This operation may be carried outeither in the laboratory or directlyon the site.

The midnight self-learning profilecan have max. 6 regulation steps. Profiles with midnight self-learningcan have max. 5 regulation steps.

Urban and interurban roadscharacterised by high longitudinaluniformity values (min. Ul= 0.6)and mostly vehicular traffic. An example is represented byroads in ME3b lighting category.

Urban neighbourhood and urbaninterneighbourhood roadscharacterised by longitudinaluniformity values from 0,5 to 0,6and mostly vehicular traffic, withroundabouts, bicycle lanes andsidewalks. The example considersa street in ME3c lighting class(illuminated with DELPHI 59LED).

Urban local roadswith vehicular traffic and 50Km/hspeed limit, in which the averagemaintained luminance is 0.75 cd/m2.They belong to the ME4a/ME4blighting category, with excellentlongitudinal and general luminanceuniformity values.

Urban neighbourhood and urbaninterneighbourhood roadsThey are characterised bylongitudinal uniformity values from0.5 to 0.6 and mainly vehiculartraffic. The example considers astreet in ME3c lighting class(illuminated with Argo span-wireinstallation 48LED) in a town centrewhere lighting poles cannot be used,thus imposing the useof suspended fittings.

• Supplied in versions with a base-plate and for cementing directlyinto the ground. 6 m, 7 m, 8 m,9 m and 10 m models available.

• Made of EN10025-S235JR(for the h=6 or 7 m pole), orEN10025-S355JR (for the h=8, 9 or10 m pole), 70 micron hotgalvanized steel as UNI EN ISO1461 (EN 40-5) standards.

• Powder-coating paint surface finish.• The pole has a cylindrical cross-

section with a 102mm diameter; itis either formed with two cylindricaljoints with 127mm and 102mmcross sections, welded together (forthe h = 8m pole) or it is formed withtwo cylindrical joints with 194mmand 120mm cross sections, weldedtogether (for the h = 9 or 10m pole).

• The upper portion of the pole hasfour perforations designed to feedpower cables and stainless steelinserts to secure the tie rods; agalvanized stainless steel metallicplate is welded to the pole, and hasthree holes placed at 120°, to allowthe pole top to be flush.

• 4 mm thick (ø194 thick 3 mm).• Cable access slot 150x50 mm.• Anchoring plate is made of 70

micron hot galvanized steel,and has 4 slots.

• Anchor bolts and plate(to be ordered separately).

• Flush 310x95mm access cover(for h = 9 or 10m poles) or external186x45 mm access cover(for h = 6 or 7 or 8m poles).The access covers are made withcast aluminium and equipped withwatertight gasket.

The non-electrified components of the system(such as cover plates, couplings, etc.) cannot be considered as lighting fixtures and thereforeare not included in the standards used by the Quality Seal Institutes for their classification.However, all the components of the certified systems have been tested by the said Institutesto ensure compatibility and safety. The luminaires in the iGuzzini collection are designed in conformance with European standardsEN 60598-1 and more specific ones, therefore meeting these requirements in full, includingthe maximum temperatures allowed and considering the ambient temperature to be 25°C. For those countries or areas where the luminaires are to be installed with thermal andmicroclimatic references which are different from those foreseen (e.g.: swimming pools,premises subject to the risk of explosion, etc…), we invite you to contact us. For the correctinstallation of the luminaires, always consult the instruction sheet provided with the product.

GUARANTEEIn compliance with the European regulations we guarantee our products against defects for twoyears from date of invoice by filing a claim no later than two months after noticing the defect.However, iGuzzini can grant an additional warranty against defects of products for 3 years after thetwo-year warranty upon on-line registration at www.iguzzini.com and acceptance of specific conditions.
