The House of Representatives – reside in the south wing of the capitol – 435 congressmen(voting members) and non-voting representatives from american samoa, washington d.c., guam, united states virgin islands congressmen are elected for two years each of them represents one congress electoral district

– the seats in the house are divided among individual states by population – spokesman chairs the congress chamber

Democratic party – was set up in 1820 by Andrew Jackson – liberal party – chairman: Tim Kaine – leader in The Senate: Joe Biden– leader in The House: Nancy Pelosi– emphasize social programs, state intervention in the economy, defense of human rights, environmental protection, reduction of military budgets

Republican party – was set up in 1854 – conservative party– chariman: Reince Prebus– leader in The Senate: Mitch McConnell– leader in The House: John Boehner– solid conservative attitudes – economic liberalism and free market, low taxes, business support, socially conservative values, religious (christian) values
