The 3” LCD touch panel is an ideal platform for you to operate your camera. The menu options are accessiblewithyourfinger.Withthetouchpanel,youcanselecttheoptionsdirectlyandquickly.

ThecameraalsofeaturesvideorecordingatanHDresolutionof1920x1080.YoucanalsoconnectittoanHDTVviaanHDMIcable,andeasilyplaybacktherecordedhigh-definitionvideosonthewidescreenHDTV.

Moreover,thecamerahasanadvanceduploadingfeature.Withtheexclusivebuilt-inInternet Direct application, you can upload the videos captured by the camera to the web site more effortlessly .

ISOsensitivityandcolorbalancecaneitherbeadjustedautomaticallyorchangedmanually.A16xdigitalzoomhelpsyoutocontroloverthevideosandphotosyoutake.

Thevariedeffectoptions,suchasTimeLapseandSlowMotion,makerecordingmorefun.

Thebuilt-inmemoryallowsyoutotakephotosandtorecordvideoswithoutamemorycard.Thememorycard slot allows users to increase the storage capacity.

NotePartial memory of the built-in memory is used for the camera’s Firmware code• and software.

Install the bundled software application on the CD, ArcSoft MediaImpression, for viewing the •videos correctly on a PC.

Open the battery cover

Follow utopushandejectthebatterycover.Follow v to lift the cover.

Loading the Battery

Beforeusingthecamera,youmustloadthesuppliedLithium-ionrechargeable battery.

Insertthebatteryaccordingtothecorrectpolaritymarks(+or-).1.

Closethebatterycoverfirmly.2.

Charge your battery

YoumustusethesuppliedACchargerortheUSBcable.

ThecameramustbeturnedOFF;blinkinglightconfirmscharging,andthe light becomes constant when the charging has been completed.

InACchargingMode,thelightwillturnitselfoffautomaticallyafter3~5minutes .The full charge time is about 3 to 4 hours. (Actualchargingtimemayvary.Itdependsonthebatteryconditions.)

Inserting and Removing an SD Card (Optional)

Thecameracomeswithan internalmemorywhichallowsyou tostorephotosandvideos.YoucanexpandthememorycapacitybyusinganoptionalSDmemorycard.

Insertthememorycardintotheslot.Pleaserefertothefigure1.on the right side.

To remove an installed SD card, press the card inwards to2. release it.

When the card pops out, gently remove it from its slot.3.

Recommendedmemorycapacity:1GBorabove.4.

NoteWhenamemorycardisfitted,videos/photosaresavedonthecardratherthanonthebuilt-in•memory.

Protecting Data on an SD Card: SD Card is read-only •when it is locked. No photos or videos can be recorded when the SD card is locked. Make sure the lock is on the writeable position before recording any media.

Stabilization

Motion Detection

Record videos automatically when the camera detects a movement.


IntheVideomenu,touchthe[1. MotionDetect] icon on the screen.Touch to select [Off] or [On] 2. ( ).Touch the Exit icon 3. ( )to exit.Camera will start to record video automatically if it detects 4. a movement. Stop recording if it does not detect amovement.

Slow Motion

Recordvideoswithslowmotioneffect.Whenthevideoisplayed,theplaybacktimewillbelongerthanthe actual recording time.


IntheVideomenu,touchthe[SlowMotion]icononthe1.screen.

Touch to select [Off] or [On] 2. ( )


Time Lapse

Recordstillimagesatspecificintervalsyoucansetandplaythemasonevideofile.

Off:• Disable Time Lapse.

• 1 Second.: Record one frame per second.

•3 Seconds: Record one frame every 3 seconds.

•5 Seconds: Record one frame every 5 seconds.


IntheVideomenu,touchthe[TimeLapse]icononthe1.screen.Touch to select the desired option.2. Touch the Exit icon 3. ( )to exit.

NotePause function can not be used when Time Lapse function is activated.•

Pre-record

ThePre-recordfunctionensuresthatyouwillnotmissanycriticalrecordingopportunities.Thevideoisrecorded3secondsmorebeforethe[VideoButton]ispressed.


In the Video menu, touch the [Pre-record] icon on the1.screen.

Touch to select [Off] or [On] 2. ( ).


NoteAim the camera at the subject and position it securely before • the[VideoButton]ispressed.

Photo



Touch the [Photo] icon on the screen. Submenu of2. Photo will pop out on the screen.

The Photo submenu contains 3 options-- Resolution,3. ISO, and Self-Timer --for you to adjust the camerasettings.

Photo Resolution

Three resolution settings are available.

ThecameraadjuststheISOsensitivityofitsimagesautomatically.TwomanualISOsensitivitysettingsareavailable.(800/1600).Thelargerthenumberis,thehighertheISOsensitivityissetto.Selectasmallnumbertoshootasmootherimage.Selectalargenumbertoshootanimageinadarklocationortoshootasubjectmovingathighspeed.


InthePhotomenu,touchthe[ISO]icononthescreen.1.



NoteThe image may become noisy when the ISO number is large.

Self-Timer

Theself-timerallowsyoutotakephotoswithaten-secondtimedelay.TheLEDlightonthefrontofthecamerawillalsoblink.Thespeedofblinkingwillincreasejustbeforethephotoistaken.


In the Photomenu, touch the [Self-timer] icon on the1.screen.



Effect


T1. ouch on the screen inRecordMode.Themenuwill show on the screen. Touchthe[Effect]icononthescreen.SubmenuofEffect2. will pop out on the screen.TheEffectsubmenucontains4options--Light,Scene3. , WhiteBalance,andFaceTracking--foryoutoadjustthecamera settings.

Three light settings are available.

Light On• : Thelightwillbeturnedonandkeepprovidinglight.

Digital Light• : Toextendthedynamicrangeforbacklightandhighcontrastsensesothattheobjectswill be brighter and clearer.

Light Off• : The light is turned off.


IntheEffectmenu,touchthe[Light]icononthescreen.1.



Scene

Youcanselectthemodeaccordingtothescenecondition.Auto:• Shootwithoutanyspecialeffectontheimage.Skin: • Shootwithaneffectthatmakesskintonesmorenatural.Night: • UseNightModefornightscenesorlowlightconditions.Backlight:• Youcantakeshotswhenthebrightlightisbehindthesubject.Black/White: • Theimageisconvertedtoblack-and-white.Classic: • Theimageisconvertedtoasepialook.

Negative: • The image is converted as the negative of the normal.


In the Effect menu, touch the [Scene] icon on the1.screen.



NoteToavoidblurryphotos,placethecameraonaflat,steadysurface,oruseatripodwhentakingshots in the Night Mode.

White Balance

Thecameraadjuststhecolorbalanceofimagesautomatically.Threemanualwhitebalancesettingsareavailable:

Auto: • Thecameraautomaticallyadjustswhitebalance.Daylight: • Under outdoor condition.Fluorescent: • Underfluorescentlightcondition.

Tungsten: • Under tungsten light condition.


IntheEffectmenu,touchthe[WhiteBalance]iconon1.the screen.



Face Tracking (Photo Only)

The camera can detecthumanface(s)andfocusontheface(s)automatically.Thisfunctioncanworkswithphotocapturing.Itiswonderfulforcapturingbeautifulportraitsinbacklightsituation.


In theEffectmenu, touch the [FaceTracking] icon on1.the screen.



NoteWhen Face Tracking is activated, aim the camera at the human face(s). The focus frame(s) will show on the LCD before the [Photo Button] is pressed.

Delete Videos


T1. ouch to go to the Delete option screen.

Touch[Yes]todeletethecurrentvideoor[No]tocancel2. the operation and to exit; touch [All (Delete All)] todelete all videos.

Beforeallvideosareabouttobedeleted,aconfirmation3. screenwillappear;touch[Yes]toexecutetheoperationand [No] to cancel the operation.

NoteIf a memory card has been inserted, you can only delete those videos stored on the card. •Videos on a written-protected memory card cannot be deleted.•

Delete Photo


Touch1. to go to the Delete option screen.

Touch[Yes]todeletethecurrentphotoor[No]tocancel2. the operation and to exit; touch [All (DeleteAll)] to delete all photos.

Beforeallphotosaredeleted,aconfirmationscreenwill3. appear;touch[Yes]toexecutetheoperationand[No]tocancel the operation.

Setting Menu

Enableordisablethekeypadtoneandtheoperationsound.


In the Setting menu, touch the [Sound] icon on the1.screen.



TV

Ensure that theappropriateTVstandardofyourarea isselected–eitherNTSCorPAL.WrongTVsystemsettingmaycauseimageflickers.

NTSC• (60Hz):USA,Canada,Japan,SouthKoreaandTaiwan,etc.

PAL• (50Hz):UK,Europe,China,Australia,SingaporeandHongKong,etc.


IntheSettingmenu,touchthe[TV]icononthescreen.1.

Touchtoselect[PAL]or[NTSC].2.

Use this option to select the language of the user interface.

Yes: • Formatthebuilt-inmemory(WhenthereisnoSDcardinthecamera)/SDCard(WhenthereisanSDcardinthecamera).

No: • Donotformatthebuilt-inmemory(WhenthereisnoSDcardinthecamera)/SDCard(WhenthereisanSDcardinthecamera).


In the Setting menu, touch the [Format] icon on the1.screen.

Touch to select [Yes] or [No]2. ( ). (Touch[Yes] to enter theconfirmationscreen.)

Touchthe[Yes3. ] icon to execute the operation and the [No ] icon to cancel the operation.

NoteAll the data will be erased if the SD card is formatted. Make sure all the data are copied to your PC before formatting the SD card.

Default Setting

To restore the default factory setting, select this option.


IntheSettingmenu,touchthe[DefaultSetting]iconon1.the screen.
