    1.1 Background

    Federal Agricultural Marketing Board or known as FAMA (Federal Agricultural Marketing

    Authority) was a marketing agency which was established under Ministry of Agriculture and

    Agro-Based Industry.

    FAMA was formed in 30 September 1965 to monitor, coordinate, control and develop product

    marketing of Malaysian agriculture, including import and export.

    Agricultural products under FAMA service's field are:

    Vegetables

    Fruits

    Grain and Herbal

    Livestock and Aquaculture

    FAMA main function is :

    Coordinate agriculture marketing activity both in private sector or department /

    government agency

    Improve marketing system and expand new market of Malaysian agriculture development

    Collaborating with private sector and department / government agency to create efficient

    and effective agriculture marketing system

    Develop an efficient management in agriculture industry, marketing activity or

    agricultural products processing

    Involve directly in agriculture industry, especially in marketing activity and products

    processing.

    To be a powerful leader in food and agricultural marketing

    Mission

    To develop an efficient and effective food and agricultural marketing chain in order to sustain

    customer value.

    1.2 Objectives

    1. To actualize the Country Vision and Agriculture Policy to make Malaysia as global prime

    food importer in food and agriculture products.

    2. To develop efficient and effective of marketing infrastructure and supply chain system.

    3. To develop marketing and increase in agriculture products demand either locally and

    internationally.

    4. Utilizing human resources ability in the agriculture marketing based on knowledge and

    advance technology.

    1.3 Main Functions

    1. To coordinate agricultural marketing activities either in private sector or government

    departments/ agencies.

    2. To improve the marketing system and new market expansion and development for

    Malaysia's agricultural produce.

    3. To collaborate with the private sector and Government department / agencies in creatingan efficient and effective agriculture marketing system.

    4. To develop and enhance management efficiency in agricultural industry related to

    marketing activities or processing of agricultural products.

    5. To be directly involves in the agriculture industry especially in marketing activities or

    processing of agricultural products.

    1.2 User Requirement

    The users are requiring for this develops system design is more to coordinate agricultural

    marketing activities either in private sector or government departments/ agencies. This

    user can used this system for their requirement such as to improve the management of

    pesticide application in pest control. Besides that utilizing human resources ability in the

    agriculture marketing based on knowledge and advance technology.

    2. CONCLUSION

    From this case of study we have a priceless experience especially the interaction with

    government department (FAMA). I informed that FAMA promotes sharing of technical

    expertised and information with the GIS system. They also performed scientific research and get

    fundings that can be harnessed to promote algriculture marketing. FAMA also enhance research

    skills while exposing them to the research community in the country. I found that several types

    of GIS can be presented to the department. I also had a discussion to produce a decision for

    solving problems or obstruction that existed. Furthermore, I can conclude that GIS field can be

    applied to any system especially in web or electronic mapping.

    - Pasar Tani, Kedai Rakyat Agrobazaar, motor tiga roda, gerai buah-buahan segar, ladang kontrak,produk proses agromas,

    -Sambutan produk FAMA sentiasa baik kerana kualiti produk sentiasa diambil perhatian

    4)Adakah pihak FAMA mempunyai ladang khusus? Jika ada, bagaimana pula dengan cara kutipan hasildan pengkelasan hasil tersebut untuk dipasarkan?

    -FAMA hanya membimbing pengusaha dibawah kementerian Pertanian Malaysia melalui programladang Kontrak.Petani juga akan diberi bimbingan dari masa ke sesama tentang teknik penanaman,

    penuaian dan penggredan untuk tujuan pemasaran

    5) Dipahamkan pihak FAMA juga terlibat dalam menjalankan projek/program pasar tani, bagaimanakahpihak FAMA menetapkan lokasi pasar tani tersebut adakah disebabkan populasi kawasan tersebut ataufaktor-faktor lain?

    -Secara Am lokasi pasar tani ditentukan melalui taburan penduduk dan juga kuasa beli orang tempatan.

    6) Adakah harga pasaran ini seragam diseluruh negara?

    -Tidak, harga sentiasa berbeza dari satu negeri ke negeri lain, harga kawalan cuma dikeluarkan padamusim perayaan yang juga berbeza mengikut lokasi

    7) Bagaimanakah cara peniaga-peniaga ingin memohon untuk berniaga di pasar tani adakah melaluiborang atau secara online?

    -Peniaga yang berminat boleh mendapatkan borang dari urusetia pasar tani yang sentiasa berada ditapak perniagaan pada hari dan waktu operasi

    8) Adakah sektor pertanian dinegara ini boleh mencapai sistem setanding dengan negara-negara majuyang lain?

    - Kerajaan sentiasa mengambil langkah untuk develop sektor pertanaian dengan perubahan semasa

    supaya sektor pertanan dinegara kita maju ke hadapan bersama negara-negara lain cth: penggunaan

    peralatan teknologi baru.
