The Wrap-Around Packing Process

Packer
High-volume suctionsecures the traywhile the productdrop forms it.
Pneumatic pistonspress the flapstogether to ensure astrong, reliable seal.
Precision, multi-cavityglue heads spray hot glueonto front and side flaps.
As the formed tray moves fromthe forming area toward thegluing area, the top flap hingeis guided down toward the tray.
Snap-in change parts and high-visibilityindicators and scales ensure accurate,
repeatable changeover.
Vanguard provides full corrugated wrap-around packing. Pneumatically-controlledtop and side actuation provide complete
control over compression. Delicateproducts are fully protected.
Note: The electrical and operator panels can be remote-mounted for ease of access and flexibility.
Product comes in directly overthe tray blank. This eliminatesside push and unnecessaryimpact on the product.
Case/Tray magazine is crank-adjusted for easy changeover.
Clear, Lexan® guards providehigh-visibility protectionthroughout the system.
Welded tube frame andinterlocked doors provide asteady platform and a safe workenvironment.
High-volume/low-pressure blowersprovide strong vacuum for reliable blank
selection and positive control.
The electrical panel is equippedwith program controls, servo
drives, pneumatic controllers, andsafety-system monitoring. The operator interface, which
provides complete system control,is mounted at a good workingheight and angle for ease of use.
Standard-Knapp’s Model 333 Vanguardproduces a tight, square, cost-savingwrap-around tray or full case shipper.
The compact design allows it to fitinto any shop floor. Snap-in parts andquick-handle adjustments providereliable, repeatable changeover.
