Carbon Steel Press Technology (1-Day)This course will cover the use of carbon steel press systems for residential, commercial and industrial piping applications. Applications including gas and hydronics will be covered along with many others. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the advantages of press pipe joining technology over traditional methods through practical examples and hands-on demonstration.

Commercial Radiant Heating & Cooling (2-Day) This course will cover system design considerations for commercial radiant heating & cooling systems. Commercial installation applications, piping and controls as well as efficiency comparisons vs. traditional heating and cooling methods will be addressed.

Copper Press Technology (1-Day) This course will cover the use of copper press systems for plumbing, heating and hydronic piping systems. Topics will include technical information on press technology and fittings, as well as applications and installation practices. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of the advantages of copper press fittings vs. traditional joining methods and how they can use press pipe joining technology to increase efficiency and profits.

Press Technology for Gas Fitters* (3-hrs) This course will provide all licensed gas fitters continuing education hours towards their related requirement for license renewals. Approved by the State of NH Mechanical Board, this course will provide a total of 3 hours of related credits towards your continued education. This course will cover the different press-connect fittings approved for gas distribution systems; along with sizing, installation practices and how to commission a system. Upon completion participants will have a complete understanding of how to properly install press-connect fittings and receive a credential card, which is required by some jurisdictions in order to install these gas systems.

Geothermal & Solar (2-Day)This course will cover design and installation options for Geothermal and Solar Systems. Also addressing how to design a hydronic system around the parameters of these efficient heat sources in addition to piping and control integration of supplemental heat sources.

Hydronics 101 & Radiant Systems (3-Day)This course will provide you with a basic understanding of how hydronic system components work as well as the different options that are available to you. This course will also allow you to expand your knowledge of radiant installation options. You will leave with an understanding of the features and benefits of radiant systems and the ability to estimate materials for a variety of applications.

LoopCAD® (2-Day)

This course will provide first hand experience using LoopCAD software for radiant design & layouts.

Manual J (2-Day) This course will cover the calculation of Residential Heating & Cooling loads using ACCA’s manual J.

NFPA 13D Fire Sprinkler (1-Day)This course will cover Design & Installation options for NFPA 13D Residential Fire Sprinkler Systems.

Radiant Design, Piping & Controls (3-Day)Day one is dedicated to design theory and practices where you will achieve a greater understanding of how to maximize your radiant design. Days two and three focus on different piping arrangements and control strategies which can be considered when installing a radiant system. Applications such as hybrid systems, multiple temperature piping arrangements, as well as system component placement will be covered.

Radiant Design & Software (2-Day) Day one is dedicated to design theory and practices where you will achieve a greater understanding of how to maximize your radiant design. The second day takes place in our state of the art, amphitheater style computer lab allowing you to get first hand experience utilizing the most up to date Viega software release.

Radiant & Hydronics Troubleshooting (2-Day)This course will be hands-on focused to provide designers, installers, service technicians and any other technical support personnel the information necessary to properly diagnose problems within a radiant or hydronic system.

Radiant Piping & Controls (2-Day)This course focuses on different piping arrangements and control strategies which can be considered when installing a radiant system. Snow & Ice Melting (2-Day)This class will take an in depth look at the design and installation of hydronic snow and ice melting systems. Coursework will include the design, installation practices, estimating operating cost, piping and control options.

Stainless Steel Press Technology (1-Day) This course will cover the use of stainless steel press systems for commercial and industrial plumbing, heating and piping applications. Properties and chemical compatibility of both 304 and 316 stainless steel will be covered. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of the advantages of press pipe joining technology, as well as the ability of these systems to increase installation efficiency and decrease downtime.

Jeff Courtney Director of Product Management, Plastics - Viega

Jeff Courtney is the director of product management, plastics. In his position, Courtney is responsible for managing and developing polymer system solutions for Viega North America. He initiates product line strategies, defines and manages product innovations and enhancements, establishes business plans and balances the product line budget. He has overall responsibility for Viega’s polymer system solutions for North America. Courtney joined Viega in 2007 as a project manager and was promoted to product manager in 2009. In 2011, he was promoted to his current position. Bringing 15 years of industry experience, Courtney was a project manager and a design engineer for several MEP consulting firms. Courtney is involved in several industry organizations including ASHRAE, American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) and is active with the Plastic Pipe and Fittings Association (PPFA). Courtney received a bachelor’s degree of science in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University. He holds the title of Professional Engineer (PE) for the state of Kansas. He resides in McPherson, Kan.
