Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in Groot- Zundert.

Parents

Vincent’s mother’s name was Anna and his father’s name was Theodorus. His father was a minister and his mother was a bookbinder’s child.

SiblingsVincent was the oldest of

his three sisters and two brothers, although he was very close to his brother Theo that was four years younger than him.

Vincent was very rude and bad tempered as a child. A lot of people did not like him.

Childhood

Time is speeding up. Vincent is now sixteen and his parents sent him to work for his uncle Cent. Cent is short for Vincent, the same name as him.

Work

Vincent got transferred from Netherland to London by Goupil & Company because he was great at his job. Vincent loved London he visited galleries and museums and fell in love with a young woman, but she did not have the same feelings

Vincent got fired from Goupil & Company because he left his job and went to the Netherlands for Christmas. He finally decided to become an artist.

Antwerp Art Academy in January 1886, but soon leaves because they are too traditional.

GROSSIn 1888, Vincent cut off a piece of his own left ear!!!
