  • Abstract (hidden)Virtualization and cloud computing offer many new options fordisaster recovery and business continuity. Indeed,backup/recovery, storage management, and data archiving areamong the top use cases for both virtualization and cloud. Thesenew choices include the flexibility and agility offered byvirtualization, the ability to use on-premise infrastructure forinternal or "private cloud' systems, and the many optionsavailable from commercial "public cloud' offerings. However, formany IT organizations and storage administrators it is not alwaysclear what these options mean, how they are best applied, how toprepare for them, which workloads they are best suited to, orindeed whether they are suitable at all. This session will explainthe implications of virtualization and cloud on disaster recovery, explain and investigate the many new options, and provide bestpractice recommendations for evaluating and adoptingvirtualization and cloud computing for disaster recovery andbusiness continuity.
