The new benchmark for low-intensity solar LED obstruction lighting in an easy-to-install, low maintenance package.
The VLB-5 LED Beacon has a wide range of applications including marking of wind turbines, bridges, towers and other hazards to navigation. The wide asymmetrical vertical profile meets the requirements of the FAA L810 and ICAO Type A & B obstacle lights.
The obstacle light is an extension of the popular Vega VLB-
5 (67) LED Marine Beacon for applications where a wide
asymmetrical vertical profile is required.
This profile meets the requirements of the International Civil
Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for Type A & B obstacle lights,
there is also a FAA L-810 compliant model.
• Beacon spread of 10° at 50% peak intensity.
• Peak intensity at 8° above horizontal.
• Programmed intensity occurs at +6° and +10° above the
horizontal.
• 10CD programmed for ICAO Type A hazard light
• 32CD programmed for ICAO Type B hazard light
• 32.5CD programmed for FAA L-810
The obstacle light is available in 5 colours: red, green, white,
yellow, and blue, with the exception of the FAA model which is
only available in Red.
All colours meet IALA chromaticity recommendation, and the
requirements set by FAA and ICAO.
The VLB-67 LED Light is a feature rich product that has been
designed to provide flexibility to the user.
OUTSTANDING FUNCTIONALITY AND FEATURES
Features include:
– remote programming in less than 2 minutes
– long life GEL lead acid batteries that will continue to charge
to -20°C and provide continuous operation at -30°C
– high autonomy (days with no solar charge) in a completely
sealed, self-contained unit
– five colours meeting IALA requirements
– IP68 waterproof
– light intensity automatically adjusts with flash character
setting (Schmidt-Clausen)
Programming features (with Vega IR Remote Programmer)
include:
• Automatic Schmidt-Clausen intensity correction for short
flashes
• Multiple effective intensity settings
• Day/night transition level settings
• Programmable flash characters
• Master/slave options and sync delay
• Programmable sleep and test modes
• Transport mode so that the VLB-5 can be programmed before
deployment
