Vmax Encore system Autobox cabin Plethysmography Key features include: Fast and accurate—all lung volume, resistance and spirometry tests can be performed in as little as 60 seconds Open cabins create less stressful patient environment Two cabin sizes—standard and 1,400L wide (largest cabin on the market) All tests can be performed in the box, including gas dilution, so “trapped gas” (difference between body box lung volume and gas dilution lung volume) can be quantified Both VTG and RAW can be obtained via the conventional panting technique or quiet breathing technique Transmural (through the wall) patient breathing allows for compression-free FVL measurements that accurately determine patient effort Equipped with real-time BTPS mass flow sensor that automatically corrects for changing environmental conditions The Vmax Encore system Autobox cabin combines advanced pressure- compensated flow technology to provide fast and precise measurements of thoracic gas volumes, including communicating and non-communicating lung volumes. The system also helps avoid the possibility of underestimating lung volumes, which is common when testing some obstructed patients with gas dilution techniques. Airway resistance/conductance measurements can be referenced to a specific lung volume, which is useful in determining the patient’s response to bronchodilator or bronchoprovocation tests. Lung compression can be measured during the flow volume loop to determine patient effort. Lung compression is always positively correlated with patient effort.

Vmax™ Encore system Autobox™ cabin Plethysmography

Key features include: • Fast and accurate—all lung volume, resistance and spirometry tests can be

performed in as little as 60 seconds

• Open cabins create less stressful patient environment

• Two cabin sizes—standard and 1,400L wide (largest cabin on the market)

• All tests can be performed in the box, including gas dilution, so “trapped

gas” (difference between body box lung volume and gas dilution lung

volume) can be quantified

• Both VTG and RAW can be obtained via the conventional panting technique or

quiet breathing technique

• Transmural (through the wall) patient breathing allows for compression-free

FVL measurements that accurately determine patient effort

• Equipped with real-time BTPS mass flow sensor that automatically corrects

for changing environmental conditions

The Vmax™ Encore system Autobox™ cabin combines advanced pressure-

compensated flow technology to provide fast and precise measurements of

thoracic gas volumes, including communicating and non-communicating lung

volumes. The system also helps avoid the possibility of underestimating lung

volumes, which is common when testing some obstructed patients with gas

dilution techniques.

Airway resistance/conductance measurements can be referenced to a

specific lung volume, which is useful in determining the patient’s response

to bronchodilator or bronchoprovocation tests. Lung compression can be

measured during the flow volume loop to determine patient effort. Lung

compression is always positively correlated with patient effort.

Fast and accurate—all lung volume, resistance and spirometry texts can be performed in as little as 60 seconds

Two cabin styles available

Two cabin sizes—standard and 1,400L wide (largest cabin on the

market)—to assure comfort for any patient.

The mass flow sensor rotates outside the box in order to perform

non-box tests for maximum ease of use and comfort to the patient.

Lung compression can be

measured during the flow volume

loop to determine patient effort.

Digital filtering (adjustable)

corrects for thermal drift during

quiet breathing RAW.
