I’m a big fan of at-home treatments, so one of my favorite spa products is the MTS Micro Needling Roller. I use mine about once a week after my evening cleanse. The MTS roller helps to stimulate collagen and improves how well my serums work. One or two quick passes per week makes a big difference in my skin tone, and only adds a minute or two to my skincare regimen.

Micro needling works by encouraging your skin to make more collagen. The idea is that the pinpricks from the treatment cause slight injury to the skin which stimulates the growth of new collagen.The MTS Roller is helpful in the treatment of various skin conditions such as aging, scaring, stretch marks and pigmentation. I get this question a lot when talking with patients about cosmetic treatments. Both Botox and fillers can improve the appearance of our aging face but are very different.

Botox is a neurotoxin, or a toxic protein, produced by a bacteria that prevents release of an enzyme responsible for muscle contraction. Therefore, Botox paralyzes muscle tissue. The minuscule amounts injected into muscles for cosmetic purposes is safe. The purpose for injection is to prevent the muscles from moving that cause facial fi ne lines and creases. WHAT DO I NEED, BOTOX OR A FILLER?the forehead. Botox is not permanent and the effects last approximately three to four months.

Fillers serve a different purpose to improve our appearance. As we age our facial fat shrinks and we don’t make as much connective tissue to hold fat pads in place, so we develop sags and wrinkles. Fillers are injected to try and replace the fullness we have lost. Fillers typically last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, and some longer.
