Who We Are


A countywide service for people with a learning disability, who want to work. We help find employment:

• In the public and private sector

A specialist team who will enable people with a learning disability to access and sustain paid employment:

• Expertise on employment and benefit issues

• Personal profiling and job matching

• Ongoing support to employers and employees

• full - time or part - time


Who We Are - continued


We are part of WCC’s provision for adults with a learning disability, based within the Adult, Health and Community Services Directorate.

• To maximise the quality of life of all communities in Warwickshire by working in partnership to reduce inequalities and improve well- being, enrich people’s lives through learning and culture, and promote independence• To help people who need extra support, or vulnerable people, to live as independently as possible

• To recognise that people with learning disabilities have a right to choice; equal opportunities in employment; and the material, personal and social benefits of having a job

• Job profiling

• Selective recruitment

• Support with job applications

• Support at an interview

• Provide an intensive induction package

• 1:1 travel training

• 1:1 job coaching

• Regular support and reviews

• Advocate for client with work related issues

Work Placement:

• Provide information or training to employers about disability, equality and diversity

• Ongoing support and collaboration with other agencies

• Regular support and reviews of client

• Intervention and referral to other professionals, if required

Benefits Advice

• Full review of the effects of employment on client benefits

• Help with applications to the Benefits Agency

• Ongoing support with changes to benefits

• Explanations to carers about the effects of any changes

• Initial referral to W.E.S.T.

• Assessment and vocational profiling

• Allocation of a key worker

• Create opportunities for employment

• Work in partnership with employers, clients, parents and carers
