Cards2Kids is a local charitable organization that donates new and used sportscards to kids in need. And we need your help turning sports cards into smiles!

Bring the family and help us sort and pack sports cards and get them ready to

donate to Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicagoland Boys and Girls Clubs,Ronald McDonald House and other children’s charities.

Whether you want to buy, sell or have your bike appraised, you will get your chance atour annual bike sale.

Sellers can arrive at 8:30, when a Wilmette Bicycle Shop representative will be availableto evaluate the condition o bicycles and suggest repairs. The buying begins at 9:30 a.m.

A 25% service charge, based on sale price, will be donated to the Community House. TheBike Sale will be held rain or shine on the Community House Front Lawn.

Here is the chance or your child to sell outgrown clothes and toys or un and proft. Theevent will be held outdoors, weather permitting, and is open to the public or shopping.There must be one adult per table. A registration orm must be flled out or selling space(one six oot table) by April 20.

Brandon Seyerth has been teaching guitar at the North ShoreSchool or the Arts in Glencoe or seven years. He is a criticallyacclaimed songwriter and composer who is accomplished in guitar,voice, piano and drums. Seyerth has perormed, composed and re-corded with Jackson Browne, Victor Delarenzo (Violent Femmes),

 Jay Bennett (Wilco), Eric McFadden (P-Funk), and Clyde Stubble-feld (James Brown). His lengthy study and experience make him anexcellent results-based instructor. His love or music and learningtranslates into un and rewarding lessons.

Mary Fisher has been working in the early childhood proessionor over 20 years. She has been teaching at the Community Houseor over 10 years.

Gwendolyn Britt has been teaching dance at the Winnetka Community House since 1994. She is a graduate o the Indiana UniversitySchool o Music with a concentration in Ballet and Music. Gwendolyn danced proessionally in Ruth Page’s Chicago Production o The Nutcracker, or the Lynda Martha Dance Company and with Concert Dance Company o Boston. In Boston, she was AssociateDirector o the Lexington School o Ballet, and she is a certifed Cecchetti Council o America teacher.

Mary Kawooya obtained her BA in Dance Teaching rom Columbia College, Chicago. Mary’s primary training was centered at theLillette Rohe School o Ballet, and enriched by The Ruth Page Foundation, Carol Anglin Dance Center, and Columbia College ChicagoDance Center. Mary was an active company member o Ballet Entre Nous. She has also preormed with The Louisiana Dance Theatre, aswell as, in various works by students and aculty at the Columbia College Dance Centre. For the past six years, Mary has been teachingas a private ballet teacher at the Lilette Rohe School o Ballet in Evanston. Recently, Mary has taught dance or the Zephyr DanceCompany’s Arts Integration Program in the Chicago Public Schools. In addition to teaching dance, Mary has been teaching Pilatesat the regional training acilities in Chicago or the past our years. Currently, Mary teaches Pilates at the Pilates Center o Chicago.

Meghann Mueller received both a BFA in Dance and a BA in History rom Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She beganher early dance training at the Evanston School o Ballet under Kerry Hubata and Laura Wade. During summers, Meghann studied at the

 Jorey Ballet and on scholarship at the Milwaukee Ballet. While at TCU, she had the opportunity to perorm works by TCU acultymembers, as well as several guest artists including Elizabeth Johnson, Dana Nicolay, and TCU Choreographer in Residence Fernando

Bujones. In the spring o 2006, Meghann’s work, Narrow Anguish, was perormed at the American College Dance Festival in theadjudicated concert. In 2007, Meghann ormed Project606 Dance with ormer classmate Maureen Caspers. The company has perormedthroughout Chicago including at the revered Hamlin Park Fieldhouse and at the Atheneum Theater as a part o Dance Chicago.

E. Marc Nevins is Winnetka native, currently serves as Artistic Director o Ballet Entre Nous, a company he ounded in 1985. Hehas choreographed and staged over 100 works or the company including an annual production o The Nutcracker! at the WinnetkaCommunity House. His work has been seen all over Chicago. has appeared with such companies as American Ballet Theatre, the

 Jorey Ballet, Ballet West and locally,Evanston Concert Ballet, Oak Park Ballet, Masi Ballet Chicago and Lake Shore Dance Theatre.Mr. Nevins has taught ballet extensively throughout the Chicagoland area or nearly 30 years and has been teaching at the WinnetkaCommunity House since 1987.

Puppy Class is designed to provide a positive environment orsocialization o puppies to a wide variety o people as well as toeach other. Early socialization has been shown to greatly reduce theincidence o both human-directed aggression and dog-dog aggression,as well as anxiety and ear based behavior problems. Additionaltopics will be discussed such as addressing the common puppy issueso house training, mouthing, leadership and preventing behaviorproblems. Puppies will also learn sit and begin recall training (coming

when called). This class is appropriate or puppies ages 2–4 monthsold. Dogs must have received at least two rounds o vaccinationsprior to attending. I your dog has not yet received the second round,please plan to attend class without your puppy until the secondround o vaccination has been administered.

Obedience 101 teaches the basics o obedience: sit, down, stand,recall (coming when called), stay, and heel–everything yourcompanion dog needs to know! Both verbal commands and handsignals will be used. Dogs o any age may take this class. Positivereinorcement techniques will be used, so please bring ood rewardsor a small toy with you to class.

Obedience 102 is ocused on honing the skills o Obedience 101.Additional levels o difculty and distractions will be added. Dogso any age may enroll provided they have a basic knowledge o basicobedience commands: sit, down, recall (coming when called), stay,and heel.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class covers the 10 aspects o theAKC CGC test, the only AKC certifcate available to all dogs–pure-and mix-breed. The CGC program is designed to encourage dogowners to train their dogs to be Canine Good Citizens and includesthe ollowing: accepting a riendly stranger; walking on a loose lead;sitting politely or petting; allowing basic grooming procedures;walking through a crowd; sitting and lying down on commandand staying in place; coming when called; reacting appropriately to

another dog; reacting appropriately to distractions; calmly enduringsupervised separation rom the owner. The CGC test is administeredon the last night o class. Children training dogs must be at least 12years old. Dogs must wear a at buckle collar or the test, no trainingcollars, head halters or body harnesses are permitted during the test.

Rally is a un spin on traditional obedience or both the dog andthe handler. Rally is a sport in which ALL dogs are encouragedto participate. Purebred or mixed breed, every dog can learn theundamentals or Rally. Dogs must have strong heeling skills totake this course. In rally an enthusiastic attitude and wagging tailare as important as precision. In act, handlers are not only allowedto, but encouraged to positively reinorce their dogs during the

competition with verbal praise, petting, and even ood rewards!Dogs and handlers should both appear to be enjoying the work andeach other’s company.

Creative Paws, Inc. was ounded in 2001 by Ashlee Trotter, BS, CPDT-KA,and provides group classes and private lessons or dog obedience training andbehavior problems. Ashlee uses positive reinorcement training methods to

Winnetka Community House is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in the safest manner possible, and holds the safety of the participants in the highest possible regard. Participarents registering their child in recreation programs must recognize, however, that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreation activities.
