Who Created
YouTube was created by 3 former paypal employees. They were Chad Hurley, Steve Chen,
and Jawed Karim. It was created in February of 2005. The website was designed
originally at the University of Indiana of Pennsylvania.
Purpose of
The purpose of YouTube is to share your video throughout the world. Without the community Youtube
would be nothing, and wouldnt exist. The purpose is to show your video to
the rest of the world, and you can also watch and subscribe to others
videos around the world.
Content on
The content that is on YouTube is strictly video. You can not upload
anything other than video. So documents, powerpoints unless
they are in a video format are not allowed. The content from the website comes from us, or the
entire world.
Uses for
There are many uses for Youtube. At home you can use it to upload vlogs, or look up a how-to video. For a business
you can share videos, with people around the world or other businesses that you are working with. At school
you can show your class work to other students and the rest of the world. You can also use it as a learning device, because there are many
tutorials
Why
is a 2.0 toolYoutube is a web 2.0 tool, because it allows users to upload their own content. It allows them to share it with the entire world and helps in the development in the world wide web. Web 2.0 sites allow users to collaborate and share, and Youtube clearly shows its ability in allowing you to do this.
