Cooking:Create your own Masterchef or MKR! Follow recipes, using correct measurements.

Picture story book:Create your own book that has a front cover, title page, at least 4 pages and a blurb on the back cover.

Knit/Braid:Have a go at knitting, finger knitting, making loom bands or braiding –you might need a YouTube tutorial!

Keep a diary or journal:Talk about what you did, your feelings, funny anecdotes, & random things you noticed!

Construction:Build a city, vehicle, etc. using Lego, meccano, anything… using simple machine concepts (lever, ramp, wedge, screw, pulley).

Mediation:Use the app Smiling Minds and meditate.

Make Music:Practise playing an instrument… OR make your own instruments and band.

Poetry Anthology:* Acrostics* Haiku* Shape poetry* Colour poems* 3 line poems

Scintillating Science:Find some fun chemistry experiments to try at home! The internet is FULL of ideas!

Walk/Ride:As a family take a walk or bike ride around the block, around a lake, in the bush, down a bike path…

Learn a Skill:Get your parents to teach you how to tie your shoelaces, make a sandwich, use the washing machine, fold your clothes, making your bed, stack the dishwasher, wash and dry dishes…

Retell: Briefly retell a story you have read by summarising it into your own words – it doesn’t need to be word for word from the story.

Nature Lovers:Collect leaf and flower samples to press; create a photograph collection; use them to ‘print’ with paint…

Active ‘Love’ Jobs:Clean the cars, wash windows, garden, vacuum etc. (Some might call this community service.)

Wood/Cardboard: Build something!

Procedural Text: Write a procedure for something you have made e.g. how to make a sandwich, how to make a cubby etc.

Measure and draw: Measure and calculate the length of each room in your house using body parts. Draw each room and label the length of walls.

At an oval or park:Play cricket, kick a footy, throw a Frisbee, jog a lap or two and throw in some sprints, throw a tennis ball for your dog…

Craft It:Scrapbooking, jewellery, hair designs, make cards to send, make and hang a mobile or wind chime…

Information report:Research ANY topic of interest to you. Create a model to represent part of your learning. Use headings, diagrams, photos & captions …

There are also Library & ICT lessons and activities that we would have done in our weekly program at school on the school website. These are optional additional activities if your children wish to do them. We can provide a hard copy if requested.
