PhotographerA Letter from the

Welcome and congratulations! This is an exciting time in your life! The day he proposed, sharing the news with mom and dad, wedding planning, trying on your dress for the first time... there are so many memories that you will want to remember forever. It’s my truest desire to help you freeze that moment in time, to preserve that look he gives you as your walk down the aisle, that smile mom and dad share as you dance your first dance.

My husband and I are coming up on our third anniversary, and still we love talking about that day. Yes, it was a disaster. And yes, it was perfect. Every single one of my extended family members from both sides of my family traveled across the country to be there. And

I relive that excitement of seeing my favorite cousins from each side meeting each other for the first time when I go back and look at my wedding pictures. And that picture of me dancing with my grandpa? Well... I still get choked up looking at it.

Sadly, my husband’s family all live in Spain. His feisty Abuelita wanted to be there so bad for the first wedding of any of her grandchildren, but it’s a long trip for an old woman. His aunts and uncles had to practically hold her back from jumping aboard the next plane to North Carolina! Those wedding pictures are all the more precious to her and the rest of our Spanish family who were unable to be there in person with us. It was so special to me to walk in to her home last summer when I met her for the first time in person and see those framed pictures of Jason and I from our wedding proudly displayed in her living room. If you are looking for a photographer who understands what’s really important to you on your big day, who takes her time and cares about your wedding as if it was her own, call me and let’s chat over a cup of hot tea or coffee. I’ll ask you how he proposed, and I’ll ask him how he knew you were the one. I can’t wait to meet you and celebrate your love!

The First LookI get this question, well, pretty much

every wedding. Traditionally, the bride and groom wait to see each other on the wedding day until the ceremony. This stems from Medieval times and arranged marriages when the bride and groom may have never met until the actual ceremony! That way, neither party could back out after seeing their potentially unattractive life mate before the ceremony started.

Nowadays, many couples choose to do a First Look before the ceremony. During this time, they will see each other in their wedding attire for the first time, share some moments alone, and get their formal portraits taken.

There are some GREAT reasons to do either! Talk to your fiance and think about what will fit YOUR schedule the best.

First Look Benefits: More relaxed time to see your Love without trying to rush to the reception, normally longer time for couple portraits, getting all the wedding party pictures done early, ability to get to reception a LOT quicker.

Traditional Look Benefits: Bride and Groom have more time to get ready before the ceremony, the enjoyment of following long standing traditions, family and friends are present to see the emotions of seeing each other for the first time.

If you haven’t decided yet which you prefer, take a look at the following example timelines based on eight hours of coverage on your wedding day. Also, understand that depending on travel times, the time allowance for pictures might be much smaller.

Receive the gift of memories.Your Wedding Registry

One of the most exciting parts of getting married is registering for gifts. Be honest, you love it! If you¹re like me though, your style changes so quickly, and

the hand towels and teacup set that you register for now will likely be returned for something completely different by the time your wedding rolls around. Or maybe you already have a perfectly decorated home and all the silverware you could ever need! What¹s the point of registering then?

Giving the new bride and groom a gift on their wedding day is a tradition as old as marriage itself. Whether its big or small, your friends and family want to give you a token of their love as you begin your new life together! And one of the best gifts a loved one can give you is the preservation of your wedding day memories.

Nicole Marie Hope Photography is so excited to offer the Wedding Photography Registry for couples to use when they book any wedding package. It works the same way as a traditional store registry. You choose the options you want to offer your friends and family, and then they can securely make their purchase on www.nicolemariehope.com.

When you opt in for the registry, you will receive a custom registry page that features a picture of you with any wedding info you want to share. Your friends and family will then be able to gift you canvases, wedding albums, prints, gorgeous metallic wall hangings, or even contribute to the wedding day coverage in full or in increments from the convenience of their personal computer or smart phone. When a purchase is made, you will be notified, and the gifted money will be set aside for you to either apply it to the gift they selected, or you may choose to apply it to the wedding day coverage balance.

For the couple who loves photography and art pieces or the couple who already has it all, this is a great option. Not only could you pay your entire wedding photography package balance and order fine art canvases from your wedding day with the gifts of your guests, you are allowing your guests the satisfaction of giving you a gift that will last a lifetime. Relieved to not have to spend an afternoon matching wash cloths to shower mats? I thought so :)

Family Photo ListMy goal with family photos after the ceremony is to complete them as quickly and painlessly as possible! You can help me out with that by making a list of the family members that will be in photos. I recommend starting

with either the bride’s or groom’s side, and starting from largest group going down to smallest group. This way, we can dismiss the people who are only in one photo and get them on their way to the reception.

Example:Bride and Groom with entire Bride’s extended family including Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
