Thanksgiving Food Drive

Though it’s hard to believe, it’s

November already. The circulars in

this weekend’s papers include the ads for

turkey and all the trimmings. Each year our

parish family provides for families in need through

the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, coordinated

by our dedicated St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Please remember those in need as you begin your

Thanksgiving preparations. Canned items (please,

no glass containers or perishable items) can be

brought to our parish churches at any time. We will

come together as a family of faith to prepare the

Thanksgiving baskets on Tuesday, November 13

th

at 7:00 p.m. in St. Thomas Church. Each family

is asked to bring a decorated box to put the food in.

Our young people will lead us in prayer, and then

each family will prepare a basket for a struggling

family. Those who participated last year found this

to be a real time of family prayer and cause for

thanksgiving for the gift of family life.

Immediately following the 6:00pm Mass at St. Thomas

Church there will be a meeting for expectant parents and

parents of newborn babies. Parents are expected to be at

Mass as well as the meeting. We urge parents to attend

before the baby is born. We also urge Godparents to par-

ticipate by attending this meeting. This is a requirement for
