Reading Assessments
FAST – Fall Winter Spring
• 2 parts (aReading – foundational skills ) (CBM – reading
fluency/comprehension )
• Provide immediate feedback
• The FAST screener gives teachers information on whether a
student is proficient in the areas screened
• If a student is found to be non-proficient in a specific area
they are given a quick diagnostic assessment to determine
the instructional focus for the child.
• From those findings teachers develop small “flexible”
groups based on skills needed to ensure ALL students are
achieving at high levels.
