We’re Going To Have A Party! Plans are underway for Bradford National Bank to celebrate its 145th anniversary. The event will take place on June 16, in conjunction with the downtown American Graffiti Car Show and Our Common Ground’s Do It Yourself Street Fair. On Friday, June 15th, Bradford National Bank will host a Customer Appre‐
ciation Day at all BNB Loca‐tions. We’ll have the bank deco‐rated in a 50’s/60’s theme and the employees will dress the part. There will be door prizes and all kinds of goodies on hand. Plus, the bank will have displays of old BNB memorabilia for everyone to see. We’ll continue the party on Saturday in conjunction with all of the activities going on in downtown Greenville. The day will conclude with a wonderful concert pro‐vided by the band Sh‐Boom. SH‐BOOM is a nine piece rock 'n' roll nostalgia band performing the greatest hits of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Their highly entertain‐ing and energetic delivery of the greatest rock music ever written, has kept the group on top for over two decades. SH‐BOOM performs extensively throughout the central U.S., with their popularity centered in Mis‐souri and Illinois.
Bradford National Bank A Rich History
Bradford National Bank was founded in 1867 by James Bradford and his son. At the
time, the bank was know as Bradford and Son, Bankers. In 1910, the bank obtained its na‐tional charter and became known as Bradford National Bank. In 1967, the bank expanded to its present location and offered
the first drive‐up in Greenville. Bradford National Bank opened its first branch location in 1989 located on Idler Lane. In 1998, the bank opened its first branch outside of Bond County in Marine, IL. In 2003, the Marine branch was moved to its current location at 102 N. Duncan, Marine. In 2002, Bradford National Bank built a new facility in Highland, IL. The Highland Branch will celebrate its 10 year anniver‐sary later this year. Today, the bank has expanded its product offerings to include electronic services that compliment the more traditional commu‐nity banking services, and has assets over $200 million.
This is how Bradford National Bank looked 145 years ago! The bank remained at or next door to this location for 100 years before moving to their current “main bank” location at 100 E. College.

Traveling This Summer? Please Read The Following Debit card fraud continues to be a battle that all financial insti‐tutions wage on a daily basis. Bradford National Bank takes fraud prevention very seriously. To better protect our customers, we have blocked specific “high risk” areas of this and other countries. We have a fraud prevention program in place that “learns” customer buying habits and locations. If a transaction fails to meet certain criteria, it may be blocked, and this could cause you problems while traveling. Therefore, if you are traveling at any time, you should do the following: • Notify the bank that you are traveling, where you are going,
and how long you will be gone. If where you are traveling is on our “block” list, we can lift the block for your specific card.
• Make sure that we have your current cell phone number on file (when making purchases, you may receive a call from the Shazam fraud department to verify transaction).
• Make sure that you have the bank’s phone number: 618‐664‐2200 and the Shazam Network’s phone number: 800‐383‐8000 with you at all times.
• Verify what your daily ATM/Debit card limit is and request and increase, if necessary.
• Remember that PIN based transactions are the most secure. • Carry with you an alternate method of payment. When traveling, it is very important that you notify the bank immediately if your debit card is lost or stolen. By following these simple steps, you can avoid financial sur‐prises and focus on enjoying your trip. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Bradford National Bank at 664‐2200 or email [email protected]. Ask us about the new Bradford National Bank Travel Card! It can be used for purchases or at an ATM for cash and is reloadable.

Some Things Never Change! This old Bradford & Son, Bankers, ad was published in 1903 in a cookbook printed by the Free Methodist Episco‐pal Church Ladies Auxiliary. It’s hard to imagine how many cookbooks the bank has advertised in over the years, but this ad proves the bank has a long history of supporting local projects. The hallmarks of commu‐nity banking, established way back in 1867, are local people making local decisions with local investment and local commitment.

I Love My Community Bank! During the month of April, Bradford National Bank participated in a program hosted by the Independent Community Bankers Associa‐tion titled I Love My Community Bank.
Many Bradford National Bank customers took the time to send in a few words to express what Bradford National Bank means to them. Over the next few months, we’ll feature some of those comments in the BNB Newsletter.
“When I call, a person answers! They know who I am. I feel that they are there to help, not just take my money.” Susan Chism “I love my community bank, because they always know me when I come up to the drive thru or in the building. They are always so friendly. In addition, they fund local teams and activities throughout our small community.” Kayla Gray
