About HPHAbout HPHThe International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals & Health Services (HPH) was initiated by WHO in the 90-ies. Today, it consists of 36 National / Regional HPH Networks, each comprised of at least 3 member hospitals / health services.

In addition, there are also many individual hospitals and health service members in areas yet without a National / Regional Network.

In total, the International HPH Network is made up of more than 900 hospital and health service members in 41 countries.

The WHO/HPH Memorandum of UnderstandingThe WHO/HPH Memorandum of Understanding

In 2008, HPH had its official Constitution signed by General Assembly and was thus constituted as its own legal entity under Swiss law.

Simultaneously, work on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between HPH and WHO was initiated.

In December 2010, the MoU was finalised and signed by the RD of WHO Europe, Zsuzsanna Jakab and the HPH Governance Board.

The reason WHO Europe was signatory - coordination with HPH resides with the Europe Office, even though HPH has become global.
