Taken together, the liquid crystal, plasma and electroluminescent flat panel technologies will grow at average annual growth rates in excess of 15%. The report acknowledges that flat panel technology is still struggling with some crucial problems. The capabilities of colour, resolution and power present challenges for the designers and developers of displays. Moreover, the fabrication of a flat panel display is more expensive and time consuming.
