Wilson Reading System Introductory Three-Day Workshop e Wilson Reading System (WRS) is the flagship program of Wilson Language Training and the foundation of all other Wilson programs. Based on Orton-Gillingham principles, WRS is a highly-structured, remedial program that directly teaches the structure of the language to students and adults who have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies, or who may require multisensory language instruction. e Introductory Workshop will cover the basic fundamentals of the system including: Reading research Principles of language structure How to teach language with direct, multisensory methods Program implementation, lesson planning, procedures and practice e five areas of reading and how the WRS addresses them; phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension • Creating a successful classroom environment For more information, please contact Mary Janet Candeias at 860-524-4022, or [email protected].
