CAPITAL REGION IMMIGRATION ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

CAPITAL DISTRICT – Being initiated in 2015 by the International Center,the Capital Region Immigration Oral History Project will collect and pre-serve the firsthand interviews of Capital Region immigrants. ICCR willrely on staff, interns and trained community volunteers to conduct inter-views to gather first-hand stories about immigrant experiences. First-per-son narratives, regardless of how long ago, are enlightening and provideinsight into individual immigrant stories. In addition to audio- and video-recorded interviews, a sampling of individuals interviewed will be pho-tographed and included in a proposed upcoming pictorial exhibit. FISHING WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERSWARRENSBURG – The Warren County 4-H Youth Development pro-gram is in search of youth of all ages who are interested in joining a be-ginners fishing workshop series. Depending on the level of interest, thefirst meeting will be scheduled in early February. Youth will participatein a series of workshops which will include: “learn by doing” hands-onprojects, review the history of fishing, learn about local fish species, andhave the opportunity to go on field trips to test out there skills.
