This week, Heidi LaMarca would like to thank and recognize Megan Sliver. Heidi shared that Megan took a task that could have been very time consuming and created an efficient way to gather the data. She created pivot tables and excel worksheets to accumulate the data to present to the client. And it didn’t stop there – she supervised and trained the interns as well!

Please join Heidi in applauding Megan for her hard work!

nt Brandi Lucier is here! She officially started this past Monday, July 7th. She joins us from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she spent 5 years gaining valuable experience in mergers and acquisitions and tax consulting. With WB, she serves as an international tax in-charge, working on Tax Team 2 with Brad Dickson and Nicole Suk. If you haven’t stopped by to say hello, please do. She’s seated right outside of Nicole’s office.

It’s Review Time!

Kim Hensarling and Christopher Nunn want to share the updated review timelines with you; please stay cognizant of this schedule. Self-evaluations have been completed; next, the meetings with supervisors follow. They will start the week of July 21 and should be complete by August 15 with more details to come for the coaches. Be on the lookout for email updates soon.

It’s Also Survey Time!

WB has been a long-time winner of several awards for being a great place to work - these nominations and awards are the direct result of your input (and nothing else!) and we’re thrilled to continue to be in the running for these great honors.

Soon, you will be receiving two separate email surveys asking your opinion of Windham Brannon’s environment, management, processes, etc. as part of these awards processes. One will come directly from “Best Companies”, which is the survey for Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work for 2014. The other will come from “Quantum Dynamics”, a third party company working for the Atlanta Business Chronicle to award the “Best Places to Work in 2014”. We have always had a very high response percentage, and we thank you in advance for taking the time to let them know how you feel about working at WB! HR and Marketing will be in touch as these surveys are distributed; just stay tuned.

Healthcare Practice Leader Cheryl Yarbrough and specialist Valerie Barckhoff have done a phenomenal job keeping a current client engaged and continuing to rely on us as their service provider. Apollo MD will continue its relationship with WB, this time for IT solutions and charge capturing. You can learn more about this client here.

International Tax Practice Leader Brad Dickson has just secured two new tax deals for WB. One is with existing client, the National Center of Civil and Human Rights (who also just had their new facility ground breaking on June 23rd!). The other is with the College Football Hall of Fame. Brad will provide tax services to both of these groups - they are in excellent hands, for sure!

Tax partner Carolyn Riticher has also landed a new client for the WB roster - En-pol, Inc. This Atlanta-based company is a global supplier of engineering grade resins, alloy blends and custom compounds; you can learn more about all they do here. Their headquarters are right down the road in Brookhaven!

Congrats go out to and all who helped secure these opportunities for the firm!

ship Marketing is excited to announce that

Insights 2014 will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead this year. We’ve set the date for Thursday, November 13th, and you’ll have a “save the date” invitation soon to share with your prospects and clients. The Committee is working on finalizing speakers and the agenda, which we will share via email with you all very soon. As expected, we are changing things up once again for the better this year!

You spoke, we listened, and we’re on the way to implementing! WB will have an intranet very soon. Marketing met with training superstars Carlye Dooley and Rebecca Smith, as well as HR rockstar Kim Hensarling to gather important materials and requests to include. Special thanks go out to our Associates Council for recommendations they shared. It will take a bit to develop and test, but know it’s coming soon!

We need bloggers!

The WB blog is filled with content provided by our own thought leaders, as well as materials gathered through a curating program that captures articles of interest for our readers. The more we can have from WB, the better. Our PR firm is more than happy to work with anyone willing to share insights - if you can give a few bullet points of info, they can draft the entry for your review. So easy. Please let us know if you’d be interested!

Windham Brannon is committed to building lasting relationships with our clients - and our business partners. We’ve introduced several partners to you by way of this newsletter in the last many weeks (UTG Solutions, HDH Advisors, Latitude Growth Partners, Renasant Business Credit, and VRA Partners), and we’ve received great feedback from highlighting their services.

Kim Hensarling is sponsoring this week’s Jeans for a Cause Day to benefit Children of Fallen Patriots. The organization provides college scholarships to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. One of Kim’s good friend’s husband, Tom Kennedy, was killed in Afghanistan a year and a half ago, and she is collecting donations by way of our Jeans Day to give in his memory. You can learn more about the charity here.
