Can Ribas winery SINCE 1711 The Ribas winery of Consell is a reference in Mallorca for winemaking. With its over three-century-old history, it is the oldest winery of the island. It is located in one of the listed stately homes from the 18th century that has been preserved intact to date, with its original historic barrel cellar and winemaking warehouse. Pedro Ribas de Cabrera, ancestor of the current owners, started in the year 1711 the construction of the winery. Ever since, wine has been made at Ca’n Ribas, and has been gaining recognition year after year. It acquired prestige over a century ago, when it was awarded the Medal of Perfection at the National Winemaking Exhibition in 1877. The descendants of Pedro Ribas aim to continue his achievements and work in accordance with a lifestyle that above all respects the land, the history and the legacy. WINERY The Ribas Winery, located in the Majorcan village of Consell, has been making wine for over 300 years. A high percentage of the Majorcan grape varieties Mantonegro and Prensal are grown here in accordance with the family tradition. The Bodega Ribas is also known for recovering other native varieties from the island, like Gargollasa, which was practically extinguished, and that now complements the previous varieties. The more than 40 hectares of vineyards are carefully worked on and harvested by hand, and count on the oldest plantation and the widest diversity of native grape varieties of the island. Ribas is the pioneer in Mallorca for grape selection in the vineyard and hand selection, grape by grape at the winery; in order to guarantee optimum quality in all the wines. VINEYARDS Land area: 40 hectaresLocation: Finca Ca’n Ribas in the municipality of Consell. Height above sea level: 155 metres. Characteristics of the terroir: Soil with porous stones and gravel with a loamy-sandy texture. Very good drainage capacity. Mild Mediterranean climate with average annual rainfall of 450 mm. Average age: 60 years for the native grape varieties and 25 years for the foreign varieties. White grape varieties: Prensal blanc, Viognier and Moscatel de grano menudo. Red grape varieties: Mantonegro, Gargollassa, Callet, Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot.

Can Ribas winery TOUR OF THE WINERY + WINE TASTING The guided tour consists of a guided walk through the vineyards followed by a tour of the winery with explanations on the history of the bodega and the winemaking process. Tasting of 4 wines. To complete the tour, we offer a wine-pairing menu served in the garden or inside the 18th century family house Ses Cases de Ca’n Ribas. Lunch or dinner is prepared and served by the catering of “Celler Ca´n Amer”, one of the oldest restaurants of the island that has received many awards and distinctions. Duration: approx. 4 hours.

- Farmhouse “Pa amb oli”: Majorcan whole wheat bread made in firewood oven. Assortment of Extra Virgin Olive Oils (D.O. Mallorca), Majorcan Tomatoes, Es Trenc natural sea salt “Flor de
