Volunteer Services“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.” ~ sherry anderson

St. Cloud Area School District 742 is committed to partnering with community volunteers, to help personalize instruction and enrich curriculum for all learners. District 742 offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups 14 years of age and older. Typically, volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering for a full school year or a minimum of 20 hours before leaving the program. The Volunteers in Education (ViE) Program is designed to focus on improving academic outcomes for students in our schools.

Volunteers serve as adult role models to students while encouraging them to do well in school. There is no experience necessary to become a volunteer in education! ViE offers training and orientation to ensure that volunteers are successful tutors for students.

ViE volunteers are an important example and resource, they:

• Demonstrate that our community values children and education• Encourage students to do their best• Show the importance of service to others• Support the work of teachers and staff
