    1826 First feminist magazine in Zacatecas, El

    Abanico

    1884-1887 In the feminist magazine Violetas del

    Anahuac, they demanded the right to vote and

    equality of opportunities for men and women.

    Margarita Chorne y Salazar, achieved

    the distinction of being the firstwoman called in an independent profession in

    Latin America

    In 1916, the First Feminist Congress of Yucatan

    was created. With this congress women

    received the right to vote in Yucatan, butTabasco and Chiapas were influenced too.

    Women are entitled to be consideredequal within the home.

    1923, First National Feminist Congress wantedthe:

    Civil equality in order for women to be eligible for theadministrative charges.

    The decree of political equality and parliamentaryrepresentation by social groups.

    SLP granted women the right to vote and beelected in municipal elections.

    1925, Chiapas conceded to 18 years old women

    the same political rights of man.

    1929, There are new women's associations, whosemain aim was to obtain full political rights:

    the Feminist Revolutionary Party and the

    Bloc National Revolutionary Women. 1934, the FrontMexican Women was created.

    1935, For the first time women participated in

    inside voting of the PNR.

    1947, Since the reform of Article 115 of theConstitution, the right to conquer women to

    vote and be voted in municipal elections.

    1953, Citizenship is given to women andearns the right to vote and be candidates in

    national elections, obtaining universalsuffrage.

    1974, The National Women'sMovement organizes meetings to discuss theMexican legislation and the sexual educationin textbooks.

    Constitution the recognition of the legal

    equality of man and woman.

    In 1979, the National Front for the

    Liberation and Women's Rights was created.

    In 1982, the National Network of Women was

    created.
