Godfather, The / Puzo, Mario

The Godfather opens in 1945, at the wedding of Connie Corleone, the only daughter of Vito Corleone, the head of the most powerful organized crime family in the United States. During the wedding, Corleone, respectfully referred to as the Don or Godfather, is obliged to meet with people who seek his help. As the novel explains, "by tradition no Sicilian can refuse a request on his daughter's wedding day." • The world is constantly changing, and it appears that the hippies have taken over. To them its all about sex and world peace. One great example is Woodstock. It was great though it had an all star line up of bands though. From Jimi Hendricks to Dave Matthews. It was the greatest concert ever over thirty two bands that rocked this New York farm. In the time that this magnificent occurrence was happening the united states was refreshed and the states was in equilibrium and peace. It was a step forward from getting back from Vietnam and helped soother greaving soles that lost loved ones in the useless war.
