Our dear fellow teachers,
In the workpack you are about to start using you will find a series of activities to be used with your students both before and after watching the BAP play of your choice.
You will find that most of the activities have been graded according to levels, which might imply age, or language development, or both. You will also come across different types of activities, which in most cases we have decided to categorize as follows: Characters; Words, Words, Words!; Grammar & Structures; The Story; Drama Games & Activities. In many cases however, as in the classroom and in life, categories tend to merge and combine and evolve, so that one activity may lend itself to something else and become useful for something different.
All these are simply suggestions. You are the one who knows your students, so please feel free to play around with this workpack as much as you want to.

Hansel and Gretel are brother and sister. They go camping together but they get distracted following a mysterious light and get lost in the forest. Suddenly, they find a very special and sweet house. Candy the witch lives there, together with her clumsy assistants, Bubble and Gum. They make delicious cakes and sweets but they have a
problem: they can never win the Annual Candy Tournament. This time, they have a plan that can’t go wrong. Or can it? Will Hansel and Gretel help Candy become the best
candy maker in the world? Or will she get a taste of her own medicine?

Taste & Guess
First of all, make sure none of the kids in your class is allergic to the food
items you are going to use.
Blindfold a volunteer who will taste something sweet for example and say:
It’s sweet, it tastes like candy.
Go on in the same way with all the kids in your class.
As a variation, you can play Taste the Colour, where kids taste different
flavours of jelly and have to say what colour it is. After that sing and play
Jelly on a plate!
Smell & Guess
Similar to Taste & Guess, only this time kids have to smell and say: It’s sour,
it smells like lemon.
Tip: Keep the food items in a closed jar so that the smell is stronger
and easier to guess.
