Statue of Liberty
Canon World Papercraft Mini-book
The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States by France as a token of friendship, on the 100th anniversary of the United States' independence. The statue holds the torch of liberty in her right hand, and in her left hand a tablet inscribed with the word "Liberty" and the date of the Declaration of Independence. Her crown represents the hope that liberty will spread across the seven continents and seven oceans. The statue's steel skeleton was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who also designed the Eiffel Tower.
