1 DEAD KNIGHT AND HIS TRANSMOG
This issue we talk about:
First Generation Death Knights were the spirits of Orc Warlocks placed within the corpses of fall-en Alliance Knights from the First War, raised and used in the Second War by Guldan.
Second Generation Death Knights are primarily fall-en and corrupted Paladins. Arthas himself was one of these. They are bound to their specific runeweapon. Take it away and they are powerless.
Third Generation Death Knights are the most versatile, able to pick up and use any weapon off the battlefield, obviously more proficient with the weapon if they runeforge it, which must be done personally at a Runeforge.

LOREabout Death Knight
First of all we gone talk about what mean a Hero Class. A hero class is a character class derived from the base classes, but with exclusive perks. Examples of these perks include a higher starting level, better starting gear, unique abilities, and class mounts. Another ex-ample of a perk is that your abilities can run off something other than mana, rage, energy or Focus; since Death knight was first class who was using Rune System. today i thing by the definiton almost all are Hero Class. The only thing that make Death knight a Hero class for now is that you need lvl 55 to creat him, but how rumors go Blizzard gone remove that too. Little by little this game look nothing like when was started. But lets go on with lore . When Blizzard said Hero Class they never had any intention of saying a class is more powerful as if you were a hero. When Death Knight was at table for creation there was 29 hero calss that was completed. The class choice was super hard and eventually we had it down to three front runners, says World of Warcraft lead designer Jeff Kaplan when was idea for second expansion Wrath of the Lich King made. Other two classes was Necromancer. He would kind of be a range caster, do a lot of corpse explode, that sort of thing. Things we ended up incor-porating into the Death Knight. Second one was Rune Master That was going to be more of a melee type - think rogue or monk type character. But at the end they fit all that ideas in one and Death Knight was born. Paladins was also Hero class but in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and were changed to a normal class when World of Warcraft was released. Paladins were also originally considered being made into a hero class in WoW.My opinio is that Death knights are still hero class becouse they are so strong as tank or dps. A lot of healing and still most powerfull class in WoW. Now lets start talk about real lore of beggining of Death Knight.
Its also important to keep in mind that even though the death knight is a
hero class, that doesnt mean it is more powerful than the other classes, just
that it will offer a very different playing experience.

What is story about?
The first Death Knight - Teron GorefiendThe original death knights were created for Orgrim Doomhammer by Guldan as powerful soldiers of the Horde. These death knights were created by placing the souls of the slain warlocks of the Shadow Council into the corpses of fallen Stormwind knights, the first of whom was Teron Gorefiend. Unlike modern death knights of the Scourge, these ghoulish fiends were not battle hardened warriors; they were insidious necromancers who possessed superior intellect and tremendous magical power. They often favored the use of terror tactics and reanimated the corpses of enemy soldiers who fell in battle to serve them as mindless undead minions.
Teron Gorefiend was a member of the Shadow Council, Guldans clandestine conclave of warlocks and necromancers that had ruled the Horde through the puppet Warchief Blackhand. When the Horde assaulted the Temple of Karabor, many draenei clerics were taken prisoner and were told that they were being marched to Hellfire Citadel far to the north. Outside the walls of the temple, Gorefiend took the lives of every last one of them. The spirits of the clerics of Karabor remain outside the walls to this day.
When Guldan was incapacitated as the result of being in Medivhs mind when he was killed, the Shadow Council was discovered by Orgrim Doomhammer. Doomhammer had recently come to power through the assassination of Blackhand, and tortured Garona Halforcen to discover the Councils location. The majority of its members, including Gorefiend, were killed by the Doomhammers furious surprise attack.
When Guldan recovered from his catatonic state and was on the verge of joining the Shadow Council in death, he submitted to Doomhammers authority and promised to create warriors to fight for the Horde and counter the powerful magic of the humans. Doomhammer allowed him to live, to carry out this promise. Guldan took the corpses of the fallen Knights of Stormwind, and intended to imbue the rotting corpses with the souls of the Shadow Council. Nothing worked until he decided to sacrifice the necrolytes and cut out their hearts. He transmuted these hearts into powerful jewels, which were then affixed into truncheons. Upon making this stride, Guldan informed Doomhammer of his success. Placing the first truncheon into the hand of one of the corpses, the warlock and the Warchief watched as the energies of the necrolytes heart that powered the weapon coursed through the corpse, until its eyes finally opened. Teron Gorefiend had returned.
Gorefiend, Gaz Soulripper, and the other death knights swore allegiance to Doomhammer and fought for the Horde where their powerful energies aided in many battles. When Guldan betrayed the Horde, Gorefiend remained in the service of the Warchief until he was defeated. Leading the death knights beyond the Dark Portal before its destruction, Gorefiend remained on Draenor until Nerzhul, Guldans former master, came to the fore-front and united the remaining clans into the Horde of Draenor. Nerzhul intended to open new dimensional gateways to other worlds, but needed powerful items to stabilize them. To that end, Nerzhul sent Gorefiend through a reconstructed Dark Portal to claim two power-ful artifacts required for his spell: The Book of Medivh and the Eye of Dalaran.

At first, Gorefiend entered the Royal Library in Stormwind City only to find the Book gone and the guard slain with an Alterac blade. *(BtDP 109)
After failing to gain the support of the sons of Blackhand, Gorefiend encountered Death-wing, the insane and scheming Aspect of the black dragonflight, who offered aid in exchange for being allowed to travel to Draenor, where he could safely hide the prized eggs of his brood.*(BtDP 119-120) Gorefiend rode on Deathwings back as they travelled to Alterac, where Gorefiend demanded the Book from its imprisoned king, Aiden Perenolde. Perenolde agreed to turn over the Book in exchange for the Horde slaying their Alliance wardens.*(BtDP 149) Upon securing the Book of Medivh, Gorefiend again, with Deathwing providing transport, his dragons carrying the warriors flew to Dalaran where he was able to take the Eye from its secure vault. He tossed a gold coin into the Eventides fountain, which he claims was not for a wish, but as payment for what he took up and fled away.*(BtDP 165) Gorefiend rejoined the Horde in Draenor and made the march with Nerzhul to the Black Temple to perform the ritual. In the end, it was all for naught; Nerzhul escaped to the Nether with his chosen followers, leaving the Horde leaderless and stranded on Draenor as it tore itself apart from the unstable rifts he had created. Gorefiend himself fell in battle against Turalyon on that fateful day, but his spirit rose from his broken death knight corpse and escaped into the skies.*(BtDP 373)
After this defeat, the remaining death knights travelled to Shadowmoon Valley. The death knights, showing their allegiance, knelt before Gorefiend or whatever was left of him af-ter his physical demise; in response, Gorefiend beheaded them (they rose once more, as the Ghostriders of Karabor). His spirit, however, became trapped and eagerly seeks a willing host to free him... More info about him you can find here. (quest, were you can see him in WoW)
In Warlords of Draneor you can see him in 5-man instance Auchindoun. But as Dave Kosak say at BlizzCon 2013; Terongor is not Gorefiend yet, suggesti
